MagBak Elite 60-Day Review - Is It Too Gimmicky?

Gotta say you have some of the most honest reviews out there and you don't drag them on. One of the best reviewers out there. I own the MagBak Elite and I like it overall. Normally I run a Mous case but for the iPhone 16 Pro Max I was unimpressed with their cutout. They have since rectified it but too little too late.

Would you consider adding a score for mounting at the gym / or other magnetic surfaces ? Or compare this to others that tout magnetic mounting. TIA

Your channel provides much higher quality information than others. While the others rely on feelings and often seem influenced by sponsors, you deliver valuable data collected in a systematic and almost scientific way. I’m eager to see which case is your favorite. My question is: how much of what is said about the Pro model can be applied to the basic iPhone model?

I love magbak and I love this review, I would have gotten this case if it was something I could’ve gotten day one with my iPhone 15 pro max, currently using a speck presidio 2 case and it gets the job done. I do miss the features on the magbak that they advertise and that I used regularly, like being able to mount the entire phone on any flat metal surface. It was handier than you might think. Edit: and I guess it’s a deal if you can catch a sale, I follow magbak pretty closely and they do run 15-20% off sales on their site pretty frequently.

Magback is not designing a slide camera lens cover because a phone drop onto a rough surface could damage the lens, even with case allowance at the top.

I absolutely love the Magbak elite case. I have had it for about two months. The case feels great to hold. I have used it for hours and my hands still enjoy holding it. I do use the finger grip and I don’t have any problems. The screen protector that came with it was great. I got my Elite case on sale so I didn’t pay $80 for it. Very happy with the case.

I enjoy this case, but aesthetically I prefer my Phone rebel Gen 6. ( both frosted and carbon fiber. ) The makbak magnets do come in handy at my job.

Can you do a segment on quad lock? As a boater, motorcycle and snowmobile it has huge appeal. Not thrilled about the waterproof MagSafe charger that uses USB plugs not USBC. Waiting for that

I got mine on while watching the video. I love the feel and finger loop is definitely nice to have especially while laying down. The screen protector is very nice too and the case wraps over the edges of screen protector so dust and stuff doesn’t get in between. Doesn’t add a lot of weight or thickness. I’ve switched to other cases but always end up putting this one back on.

You didn’t show it on the side of a car or refrigerator which is fab for group pix. Nor did you mention the included pair of magnets with 3m tape which is an important feature. Lastly not distributed in Canada, but excellent customer service

I bought one and returned it, nothing worked well in my opinion for the 80$ price tag I didnt feel like the cost met its value. Also the case was to slippery for me, Im used to the Dbrand grip case lol.

I bought it on preorder and I how to say it’s a disappointment. It feels like a fisher price toy and the buttons are almost flush with case making hard to fine without looking. Also it takes longer to charge iPhone when case is one compared to my ESR case.

I bought one when they first released and things started breaking after a couple days. I just returned it and went back to the clear magbak case. I would have went with the rokform but the case doesn’t work well with the apple magsafe

Man, lissen. I’ve used the magbak for years and I swear by their cases “USUALLY”. Here’s MY beef: the 14 MAX (or PRO or whatever. The top big one) and the 16 pro Max classic series which I just got. They should not ever have made those two the way they did. I have the 16 pro max and I’m not using it. Why? I don’t have a decent case. It and the big top of the line 14 iPhone magbak classic cases both have the same problem, and I should’ve known something was up this go round. For the 14 series there was no “elite”. Until this go round, there was just one Magbak case. I opted not to get the elite because I hate any case ring on a phone. I don’t use it, and it looks janky. I don’t need that lil pinky pillow port cover or any port cover, the iPhones are extremely good even in water. I even have a magbak magnet in my shower at eye level, in case (get it) I want to keep watching the game or something. Water does NOTHING to these phones anymore like back in the pre iPhone 8 days. The extending magnets on the 16 pro elite cases is a cool innovation, but I mean, it seems gimmicky and redundant if it’s anything like the case I have now. It doesn’t need any help sticking to the fridge when I’m making breakfast, or the lil under-my-microwave panel when I’m at the stove, or using a MagSafe Lisen holder. It just works. And it’s extremely powerful almost to a fault. On my 11,12, 13, and 15. Or whichever ones I’ve had. Dunno if I skipped one. So to make a long story AuDHDier, I just got what usually worked for me, now called the classic. KNEW it was finna be a problem. Should’ve never done that. In the back of my mind, I wondered “why did they need to add extending magnets on one of them?” I got the case (really fast and on discount) and I put on the free screen protector (🤷🏽‍♂️okay. Is it 2014?) and put the case on. Snug fit and soft interior to prevent any scratches on the back of my phone while it stays in the case because I never take those off. Side by side, I looked: DAMMIT! The camera bump on the 15 Pro Max is SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than the 16 in the case. Bad sign. Went to the stainless steel fridge. 15 stayed put, 16 slid straight down. Only part of the magnet made contact. Now, it’s not magbak’s fault. Clearly Apple made bigger cam bumps on the 14 & 16. That’s on Apple, not them. But then why not just make the “elite” the damn Magbak Case if the classic is unusable for a case that’s from a company with literally only two words in its corporate dba name: “Mag” and “Bak”? The classic has bad iterations of “magnets” on the “bak”. The phone ITSELF already has magnets on the back, we want this to be STRONGER MAGnets on its BACK. So to drop the classic to unsuspecting buyers and return customers feels “hella sus” and the millennials would say. Or to sound inappropriately old: the classic is “Skibidi Ohio” or whatever the Trisomy generation now says. Then charge like 80 bucks for the elite which is legit the ONLY ONE that actually WORKS??!? Now I gotta wait for THAT to show up, and magbak gonna text me like they have to “investigate” my return clai-“YOU KNOW THIS CASE HAD GY🤬TDAYUM MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY WHEN YA SOLD IT TO ME! CHU MEAN YOU GOT TO “investigate”??!?
