OH MY GODD when they mentioned time cube... i didnt expect time cube to be mentioned in an anthony fantano interview. reading time cube was so insane and a peek into someone with a truly... incomprehensible and unconventional outlook on life. i love the weird internet page rabbithole concept their website has and using time cube as inspiration is so perfect. the website is very early 2000s html aesthetic, which im absolutely a fan of. i fucking loveee the artistic direction of this new album and the website.

Creating something can be a nice morale boost, but we're all suffering in our own ways. Struggle is relative. Don't undermine what you're going through. Your struggle is your own reality. There is no truly right way to live, so find what makes you happy. If you have a short-term goal in mind, polish the idea into a plan and chip away at it at a pace that doesn't drive you mad. Also, don't forget to stop and look at all you've accomplished so far. Their is no end to forward progress, so if you never stop to appreciate your growth, you're not reaping the rewards of your past effort. Stay hydrated and love yourself. You are both blessed and cursed with sentience and nobody can tell you how you are supposed to spend your time here. It sounds like you want better for yourself. That's a great thing and that wanting can guide you to get more. Good luck, fellow space-dust ape.

Weirdly this is my first time ever seeing THEM as humans....talking. And I immediately like them a lot. These are my kind of humans. I've been a fan of Mercurial World since it came out...and then they released their EP just a few weeks ago...and I adore it. Finding out who they are as people is a breath of fresh air....turns out they're two kids obsessed with sound and aesthetics and culture and ideas and almost a post-vaporwave(are we gonna start saying that now lol?) vibe about how they process music and creativity. And I seriously love it. Whatever they do next is gonna be on my calendar...along with George Clanton's upcoming new album. I love how vaporwave has kinda engendered this punk sensibility into modern DIY music...and the cream is finally rising to the top. Magdalena Bay is definitely a big part of that.
