God this is so beautiful, Everything falling apart the needle scene and the movement around the statues falling apart. Then Dick still being in Batman's shadow until it falls apart but the "light" is the court of owls. Heartbreaking and beautiful, now im gonna cry here and try to imagine everything coming back together instead.

Ok so this is beautifully done. All the imagery is stunningly drawn and throughly thought out. That image of the needle entering his brain through the lining of his eye socket gave me chills and induced the same horror in me as what I saw in Dick. That realisation of what is happening and being unable to stop it is terrifying and you drew his reaction so vividly. And that part in his mind where everything in his mind is cracking and blown away, that part where he tries to reach out to Barbara before falling to his knees and not even WILLING to look up at Batman. Just the realisation that he's lost and his shame of it making him look so small compared to bats and then when he looks up There's a hint of reverence in his eyes. It's mind blowing because of course that's how the court would do it. Strip away their identity and just as their desperate to hold on to something, give them a new one and that's how a loyal talon is born This was beautiful and a amazing and I love it and I wish more than anything that it would get more views and comments because this deserves so much more. Thank you for drawing this!

Thanks! If it makes it better, the needle doesn't go into his eyeball. It goes past the eye, through a crease in the orbital bone and into the front lobe of his brain. Kinda like a chemical lobotomy? XD

Oh dang. I can't lie here, I giggled so much though the animatic. All the little moving elements give it fluidity that doesn't undercut the music. The expressions are great, setting up contrast between the heroes (who show emotions) and the Owls (who have hidden expressions). The erosion of Dicks mind and memories is presented masterfully, with the statues of his friends and family breaking apart, eroding away. The scene with Nightwing in Batman's shadow really shows how he feels about himself, how he sees himself in Batman's shadow, maybe even thinks about himself as a failure. Another curious element is the focus on him being Nightwing, not Dick. But the end? When from Batman's shadow he is enlightened, and looking up sees the Owl instead of the Bay? I love it. All these little details make me so happy.

@@MaggieMMae I'm glad to hear that :D If there is anything I love, is the ability to convey so much meaning without the use of words. One detail I did not mention is that when the Owl doctor lady is giving Dick the injection, he is upside down, and she has to force his eyes wide open. But at the end, he is looking right at us, finally aligning himself with the Owls. Though you conveyed it also with the Owl transitioning into Talon!Dick.

It's just so absolutely beautiful. When Barbra starts fading away, I can see that he's so terribly sad, but once she's gone he doesn't remember what he was missing, he just knows that he's sad about it. It's very tragic. Well done!

I just... really love that last frame when his eyes open and they're gold and his face is just... completely blank, so at odds with the famously expressive dick grayson everyone knows... I wonder how long it'd take anyone to realize that's him with those eyes and that blank face.... A perfect blank slate for the Court to do with as it pleases....

Okay, as terrible and sad as this concept is, I ENJOYED IT THOROUGHLY BECAUSE OF YOUR FANTASTIC /ART/. The quality of this, especially for an animatic, is ASTOUNDING. Your drawings are fully outlined, not sketches, and you include more frames in a movement than the average animatic adding for smoother movement and transitions and I could go on and on but this. The Court of Owls is such an interesting storyline that I love finding stuff for! The combination of this with Young Justice just pulls on my heart! The animation of how you showed the dissolving memories is so cool! Everyone important in Dick's life going from the yj team to Jason, to Barbara, to Batman! So cool and chilling to watch!

...man, I thought this would be Dear Evan Hansen's Requiem, and about Kon or Jason or something. But this? This is better than I would ever have imagined. The imagery is beautiful, the sequencing of events is marvelous at the LEAST, and-- goodness me, the expressions. The pain, the loss, the... gosh. How even in the end, he doesn't even look at Batman, so afraid to see what could be on his mentor/adoptive father's face. And him standing in the Bat's shadow is... beautiful. There's a meaning there I want to type but I just can't express very accurately. Oftentimes, "standing in one's shadow" is considered a bit of a negative thing. But if we take it in context of the dark, gothic Gotham, and how Batman operates, _thrives_ in shadow-- maybe Dick being covered from the light is his manifestation of his mentor/adoptive father's last bout of comfort or protection for him. But I might be wrong!! ;;^^ Absolutely amazing job. Thank you for making this
