I've been playing guitar for 30 years now and whenever someone who is new to playing asks me for lessons or tips I just tell them to learn all the parts to Maggot Brain. Once you have that down you know as much and are as good as anyone out there.

"Know as much and are as good as anyone out there" I'm sorry, but WHAT? It's one of the most iconic guitar solos of all time and Eddie Hazel was incredible, but literally about 95% of it is E minor pentatonic.
@akiroai6577 Жыл бұрын
@@mrrec0very956 bro no it doesnt, this song just teaches you how to use scales, mainly pentatonic.
@NicTadaronne Жыл бұрын
@@akiroai6577I mean, yes you're correct. Beside the fact it let you learn vibrato, bending , tempo, dynamics,intervals, emotion and so on. Y'all can't say it is a basic Em pentatonic scale solo AND one of the most iconic solo in the same sentences. there is way more to it 🤘

the title comes from the fact that the producer found his brothers decomposed corpse adds another layer of meaning doesnt it?
@Hi-wv2ix3 жыл бұрын
The reason George telling him to play like his mother had just died was translated so well into music is because, when your tripping, you kind of believe anything, or make up your own beliefs in seconds if you hear something that would affect you. Beliving your mother has just died, while tripping, would be a complete mind fuck. As someone In these replies said, near the end of the solo, he likely realised thst he had just told him to play LIKE his mother had just died, not that she actually had, which is why the solo ends less dark than when it starts
@ehzAxemuzik Жыл бұрын
