I just moved from Seattle to Cairo, IL figuring I was trading one defunct shithole for another. You'd think with the race riots, floods, and degradation of the community(Cairo, not Seattle, hard to tell these days tho), it'd never bounce back. As it died, they finally decided to demolish the low income housing. And like some kind of miracle, businesses are starting to come back, crime is down. A new port is being built up early next year. Not sure affordable housing is the answer you're seeking... but what you guys got isn't working, either.

How are you going to get homeless men (mostly) living in tents on the sidewalk to clean up after themselves? Even if they wanted to, where are the dumpsters? Where are the bathrooms? The running water? The supplies for cleaning? The city invited destitute people to live on the sidewalks - the city should clean it up because this certainly is not the taxpayers job to get out there and do the cleaning themselves.

And shockingly, the major clean-up contractors getting the bids and making huge amounts of money are all well connected with the Democrats, what a shocker. The City actually has spent several hours and resources to clean, but like the news is stating, the CDC is a a higher authority who wants the City to “stand down”. In addition, Garcetti has cut the budgets for several departments due to his decision to proceed with lockdowns which has resulted in lost revenue. He first stated the lockdowns would be for a couple of weeks to “flatten the curve”. That was a lie. Now the City has lost money, is furloughing workers and has a hiring freeze.

How exactly are they going to take care of themselves with no house where are they going to have running water a business going to want them to use their bathroom and spread disease. Who would want to hire that mess of a person what will they put on their resume. If they are in a homeless shelter and that shows on a job application they won't want to hire that person. What about a phone chlothes for a job it's likely to be destroyed or stolen. There is also the fact that many have become phychotic from being in social isolation on the street no one would want to hire that. This is the reason many just commit suicide. With many people being kicked out or relying on the food bank due to the economic downturn it's about to become much worse.

Terran William's. Here near Seattle my husband fed homeless on Sundays for several years. So many of these people do not want indoors. That's one reason they flood the west coast. There needs to be treatment centers for those willing and able to recover whatever and help getting on their feet and institutions for the MANY who have fried their brains on meth or have serious mental problems from abuse and neglect. Its complicated but there is also alot of help out there for those who will take it to better their situation. Many just don't want the help, just a buck for drugs ect. You don't see many families.
