The part where Connect was woven into the song, it kind of reminded me of Madoka's point of view in the situation, since it sounds so light compared to the intense lyrics, kinda like signifying hope, but remembering that Connect was sung by Homura and how it explains her actions, to me it signifies that there's that small sense of lingering "hope" that stems from her actions of what happened in the story.

+SilenceGlaiveMaster Actually, there was never supposed to be a sequel, and Urobochi never thought there would be one. But the producer and director (I think) wanted one, so he wrote one. He originally ended it with Madoka taking Homura away with the Law of Cycles, but Iwakami and Sinbou (the writer and producer) wanted to be able to continue. The ending was come upon with the idea to make Madoka and Homura enemies. All in all, Urobochi states he doesn't feel very in control of Madoka Magica. I learned something in English class and it was while there is a character in a story that may seem the main character sometimes it can flip to another character usually it turns the whole story around. Also if you really think about it yes this doesn't really fit much else except Homura but it kinda fits Kyoko just from her past

But I did cry when Madoka died and we saw Homura's story, not because it was depressing, because it broke my heart into a million pieces and brought hem all back together again in the best way possible. (Was I a fool to trust in those lies?) It's poetic in its ignorance, missing the most important point of both Madoka Magical AND of this song by turning it into its opposite. Hikari to Kage no Naka, translates to "Among Light and Shadow". This is not a refutation but an affirmation. Madoka Magica isn't about how wishes don't actually come true because the world is dark and twisted. It's about how wishes WILL come true, EVEN IF the world is dark and twisted. Meaning: Your wish comes true - with all of its power, with all of its hope, and with all of its consequences, but again, IT WILL COME TRUE even if the world may be a cosmic horror, magic and miracles DO exist, and as long as you go on, maybe some way somehow they will prevail (Among Light AND Shadow). And also as a side note: In the world of Madoka Magica, all fairytales are actually true stories of magical girls. They were never lies, ironically.

Katie Schunk nope. Madoka probably couldn't feel that and just gave homura her hand not knowing that she was a bout to be ripped apart.

Exact words of the wish. Madoka wished to eliminate all witches "with her own hands." She couldn't purify Homura's soul gem with her hands restrained like that. Additionally, she probably doesn't have her omniscience when manifesting in physical form.
