I have the same one, bought it in February 2021. A couple months went by and I noticed a crack at the top area of the door hinge. I called magic chef, gave them my serial and model number, and they sent me a whole new door. Very impressed .. plus it does work well in my tiny home

I just bought one of these used. It'1 year old. Absolutely perfect! Freezer chilled down super fast, bright light in fridge. Much bigger than I expected on the interior.

I rent a room and have a typical mini fridge but thinking about upgrading. It's plenty but the freezer is almost useless so I have to use the one in the kitchen. And I rent from extended family and the house police is it's free game. That's fine we cook family meals and stuff but I work nights so I end up buying groceries and all the good stuff I'm looking forward to eating gets eaten while I'm asleep and it's annoying.

I have a feeling my compressor is constantly running. My living space is tiny and can't figure out if I should hear a consistent humming ? Is the " motor " and " compressor " the same ? Lately I've noticed weird sounds coming from the unit. Had to defrost it today because the two lower freezer vents were frosting over. Several hours later, this fridge is still humming and I don't hear it ( cycle ) like I used to. Any suggestions ? The unit was purchased 4 yrs ago. Makes ice extremely fast even on the lowest setting just stumped.

Hmmm not sure what's going on there. My unit definitely makes noise from time to time but it's not constant. Haven't had a problem (yet) with the freezer icing over. Is this refrigerator quiet? I need to purchase one for my apt. I have had 3 so far. 1 didnt work correctly & the other 2 were extremely noisy & kept me up...landlords fault. My apt is open concept so the fridge would be a few steps away from my couch...I would like to be able to take naps without earplugs. Thanks

Hey Crystal, the fridge does make some noise when the motor kicks on, but I wouldn't say it's much louder than your average fridge. Overall, I like the size and efficiency of this fridge, I noticed a difference in my electric bill right away. Good luck!

I have a black one. Freezer coils get cold, fan does not work. Compressor kicks in for maybe 3-5 minutes tops then stops, not to click on again. Well what do you want?!? It is a year old tops!

I further investigated and was told that because it is used as a garage refrigerator, and it is cold in the garage, that it will not work as it should due to the cold environment it is in. I spoke to a rep from Magic Chef and followed up with calls to two appliance repair companies and they all agreed with what the MC rep told me. So, in the spring, I’ll see if it functions. I wouldn't be doing my duty if I didn't chime in. I'm a full time professional appliance repair technician. I live in a Rv by choice because I don't have family or girlfriend. I bought this fridge because of limited options to fit in and replace my rvs original fridge. Look, keep your expectations with this fridge tempered. You get what you (and i) paid for. Don't ex0ect this fridge to last... it won't. I have a pile of them I've purchased broken and I reach into the pile and repair them when I need more stock. They are poorly built and have a design flaw. Expect 3 years roughly of trouble free use. The control board is notorious for failing along with evap fan in freezer. Remember reviews that are positive are of people who just bought this not people who have owned them for longer periods of time. Control board failure, evap fan failure, sealed system leaks, and compressor failure.

Hey K, I remember the plug was taped to the back when I got mine. It also may be coiled up in the bottom vent section and taped to the side. Let me know how you make out.
