I liked Magic's story about Bird and Jordan. This is what people want to hear from superstars. An inside story.

Magic played with GREAT Hall of Fame players that shadows his TRUE abilities. I think that's the ONLY reason why he's not in the G.O.A.T. conversations. Def top 3 of All time PG and top 10 overall players....I'd argue top 5 based on his entire career from high school, college and pros.

Magic GOAT PG & because he made great players greater his true abilities were displayed!

@@jefferylakes388 I agree but he actually was great too. What i mean is he couldve stacked his stats too and possibly been a lead scorer, all defensive player, leader in rebounds and steals. He literally could dominate in all 5 positions, I honestly don't know any player that can do that to date. But because he had an awesome roster of talented players such as Kareem he didn't need to. He allowed their team to be great and thus, along with Celtics, dominated the 80s

@@thomastaylor1217 you’re looking at Magic thru today’s way of determining “greatness” instead of the truer way, which was when Magic played! I’ll reiterate that Magic’s gift was making his teammates better, literally! Getting them the ball where they could dominate not just compete! I went to more than 100 games at Forum during Showtime era, and you could feel Magic’s impact as best player on floor without scoring 30+ points in the game! He’d get 6 other guys into double figures, also rebounds, steals too! Today folks debate greatness with rings and scoring stats, those are relevant, yet not to the extent today’s mindset makes them! Basketball in its purest form is a team game, not the rock n roll gang it’s portrayed today! Yeah sure Magic could’ve been leading scorer & ultimately, he did lead Lakers in scoring, BUT he preferred someone else do so! That’s why after Magic lead team in 1986-87, it went to Worthy and Scott. Moral: Stats alone don’t determine greatness…Impact solidifies it. It’s insulting to say Magic is top 3 PG…Steph is a great shooter BUT as a PG he’s Magic’s water boy! John Stockton could double his padded assist and steals stats, and he still better bow every time Magic enters the room or conversation! Too many convos without defining the terms 1st…as well as assessing who’s in the convo! I’m Lakers fan 45+ years…I’m built different than a 35 year old talking hoops, especially when they haven’t experienced Showtime era like I have.
