This video is so clear, so good, and so on point that I can't see how anyone can thumb this video down! That really shows you how many people out there will do that to anything Apple related. Seriously, this is the best channel I've ever come across. The best coverage of the Magic Keyboard on all of KZbin hands DOWN! The best reviewer on KZbin just so happens to also be my favorite artist! Oh and his brush sets are also the best. This guy is just an inspiration man. THANK YOU!

This is such a game changer. I was opening it wrong (and being frustrated) all the time. And wow, I like the way you were able to prop the iPad at the well of the bottom row of the keyboard (landscape and portrait). That’s another game changer! Gotta send this video to my brother. Thanks!

Great informative review. I never thought about using the case to hold the iPad in different ways for drawing. Now if I can find someone to review the sopiguard magic keyboard skin. I might just buy it to help keep the case clean.

This is by far the best detailed review I've seen on the Magic Keyboard for iPad. I have seen many reviews on this case and I ordered one and was deciding to send it back even before I got it. After listening to you I believe it is not nearly as bad as some of the negative comments and reviews others have suggested. Keep up the good work!

I'm actually just about to get my magic keyboard and new iPad Air in a couple of weeks. One thing I've already noticed in comparison with my already in use Microsoft Surface Pro 7, is that the kickstand kicks out very far back, and the Surface Pro definitely would take up a lot more room than the iPad Air, and even the 13-inch iPad Pro.

After seeing this I'll reconsider getting one. I primarily use my iPad to draw but sometimes I'd like to type on the go and can't stand the feeling of the folio keyboard. If it's anything like the Surface Pro Keyboard which I love then I'll give it a chance.

Excellent video, I do not understand the obsession with function keys. with the exception of the illuminated keyboard all other controls are easily accessed in the control centre, using the touchpad... takes no extra time at all. keyboard illumination is automatic and functions very well see little reason to add keys for this, if anything it could be added to the control center...

Another thing you could try is to remove the iPad from the magic keyboard, close it, then rest the top of the iPad Pro in the Camera hole (not sure it's doable, I don't have one). That way the iPad stays almost flat but do not risk to damage the table with the photo block. It's too bad the photo block isn't centered horizontally. That way you could literally put the iPad Pro on top of the magic keyboard laying flat for drawing.
@iamrishio4 жыл бұрын
Nice follow-up. I personally wish made a wireless version of the keyboard with just the base part and USBC. It’s more ergonomic to have the keyboard separate from the screen, but I’ll have to give this setup a try to see if it is for me. One benefit I see with the magic design over the surface is that the screen is pushed close towards you inviting you to touch it.
@CladioJulianoArt4 жыл бұрын
That would be cool if they did a version where the keyboard detaches. I'd really like to see them create some kind of productivity controller like the Surface Dial, but something different. Or I would love to see them design a new stand alone magic trackpad made just for iPad Pro. One that is smaller and more compact/portable than the current.
@iamrishio4 жыл бұрын
Cladio Juliano Yeah. I may end up just getting a lightweight bluetooth keyboard but nobody makes trackpads like does. I still find the Pencil amazing and versatile - even for writing text using the swype keyboard.
@CladioJulianoArt4 жыл бұрын
@@iamrishio Well, I have a review on the channel from a while back of a detachable keyboard case with a kickstand. It doesn't have a trackpad, but it's pretty rad and is pretty fairly priced. Check it out you'll see it on the channel here if you scroll around.

I wanted to thank you for your honesty, the great content of this two parts videos, and the perfect way you explain everything to us. I’m interested by the Magic Keyboard and I was waiting for a secondhand offer but I was a bit worried at the same time because of all the trash talks people had going on on this cover. (The joke is, it’s very difficult to find secondhand because people are happy with it and don’t want to sell it 😂) So thank you for this amazing guides/opinions, you explain everything clearly, and you’re comparisons are accurate, don’t let people say otherwise 😁 Oh and you got a new follower ! @CladioJulianoArt4 жыл бұрын
I haven't seen a big loss, but I tend to keep the brightness down during the day and at a smaller mid level at night. I only knock it up if I'm in a really dark room. I do also think there is an iOS bug making the brightness wack out and go higher when it shouldn't. That could be why you are seeing that. I usually just control it manually.
@michaeldiaz24094 жыл бұрын
Cladio Juliano yes same here I put the brightness low for keyboard and the screen lol thanks 🙏 for the reply.

When you take the iPad off the magic keyboard and put it in portrait mode you say it locks in position against the keyboard. Is that because the magnets happen to line up and hold it securely, because by just looking at it you would think the iPad would slide off? If magnets are holding it it will make it much more versatile than I initially thought. Your reviews have been far more useful than anything else I have seen on You Tube, thank you.
@CladioJulianoArt4 жыл бұрын
The magnets do not grab it like when it is actually attached, but there is a groove near the trackpad that allow it to lock into the position. It doesn't lock in side to side, but in my tests for using it in that position to draw it really doesn't move or go anywhere.

Great review - I'm enjoying the magic keyboard on my iPad pro. Have to admit I don't understand the obsession with how easy this (or any laptop) is to open with one hand - when would you ever use a laptop with one hand anyway?!
@CladioJulianoArt4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I agree! I don't care if I can open with one hand or not lol. So many asked about it though. Showing it being opened in one hand in this video is to show the big picture context that its overall just easy to open.
@v1ktos4 жыл бұрын
@@CladioJulianoArt Lol I know it always seems to be a question that comes up from people - I just don't get the facination. If anything this feels more solid/sturdy because it isn't so easy to open with one hand - and I personally like that!

Does anyone know if you can use the 2018 smart Keyboard folio with the 2020 iPad Pro? I'd like to give my son a new 12.9 iPad Pro and my old 2018 smart keyboard folio if they work together. I just got the Magic Keyboard and it's great.

They wouldn't be compatible because of the cameras, they are compatible the other way around. The 2020 keyboards can fit the 2018 iPad Pros.
