Crazy Man’s Handcuff’s is Michael Ammar’s name for the effect. Whilst he popularised it the original trick was by Arthur Setterington. I think it was called Linking Bands but I’d have to double check that.

100% agree with all 10 takes maybe in 11th place some thing with invisible thread, like making a rose out of flash paper, make it flout, burn it and ta-da the real Rose appears :) love that one, for 12th maybe Fantasio Color changing Lighter by Vernet Magic There lighter changes to White and there color transforms in small handkerchief its New but it feels like a classic. 👍

My first magic trick was a paddle carved by my dad using a popsicle stick. -- I did a killer color changing pocket knife.. -- Perhaps I should not have taken that to high school -- but we lived in simpler times I showed the trick to my school dean of discipline and he simply told me not to bring the knives to school again.

I fully recommend the Ninja + Range by Matthew Garrett Ninja + is a finger ring and linking ring that can be handed out for examination whilst linked. Ninja Fusion is the fusion of a solid metal ball bearing fused onto a ring, again this can be handed out whilst fused. GIR (Garrett's Impossible Ring) is a Ring that can join on other rings and can be handed out linked or directly after coming unlinked. Thankyou for reading I hope you can review these one day 😊

I keep repeating myself, but once again: Daryl has a great Sponge balls essentials DVD AND Masterclass DVD. Same for Cups and Balls - Daryl's Essentials and Masterclass. Great list! You know where it's at David!! If I were to wrack my brain to try & tweak your excellent list, I would probably leave out the hot rod & colour changing knives. I'd look to shoe-horn in 'Turbo Stick' instead; admittedly TS is a 'young pretender' rather than a classic but I feel its already a modern classic. Another brilliant paddle contender is the Amazing Jumping Arrow. In fact you could cheat a little bit and just say 'Paddle Tricks' to occupy only ONE place in your top 10 list & then think of one more entirely different trick to put into your top 10 (see later, below). If you had just the generic term 'Paddle Tricks' to occupy one place on the list I'd throw in TS, AJA, & you could then squeeze in (for kids entertainers) Daryl's 'Dicey Dots' & even squeeze in Hot Rod as well! I know, I'm cheating! (There's something about Colour Changing Knives I don't really like, don't think its standing the test of time as well as the other classics & in the UK carrying knives is a bit of a 'no no' here these days). As stated, I think my list frees up space for one more thing; just quickly off the top of my head only & without much thought, I still think Dice Explosion/Dice Bomb is a great trick & some Tenyo items are worth serious consideration as a few are good enough for professional peformance like Lubor's Lens, Prison Escape, & a mentalism gem called 'Bird Watcher'. I really wouldn't quibble with your list though David, it's great.

I think you missed the boat here. Vanishing silk is not #1. A silk is an object that has no point for most modern audiences. I would go with something like bill switch as number one. Also, since your approach was audience focused, i would include some mentalism, like Will To Read. To a participant, mentalism is magic.
