You can also do this with a deck in new deck order and not let them cut and just look through and find the card that is not in the right spot

Why don't you just remember the bottom card and ask them to put on the top of the deck ask ask them to cut the cards as many times as they want they do it 3 or 4 times and you just go to the bottom card and see the card next to it and that's there's

James C its posible but you need to do it really sneaky like youre going to somebody. and put the cards out of youre pocket, and remember youre card. ife you shufle them and look at youre card than its risky.

I don't understand why you didn't just look at the bottom card. That way you could show the pack being mixed up beforehand, have it shuffled by the spectator and passed back and the effect would be stronger.
