Do the publishers just get their ideas from this from youtube comments now? The e-mail you used to want ideas sent doesn't work anymore. I sent a lot of ideas in their in the past, some were used. You heard them wrong. They were talking about how after you probe someone with a bad hand, the person that was probed starts drawing answers like Slagstorm or other needed cards. They didn't say that the opponent got to draw a card.

Before watching, honorable mention or a place for something in manaless ichorid. A vintage deck that would make many top 8's and top 4's in vintage and never spent a point of mana to cast a spell in the entire tournament is hot.

Yeah, but game 2 tends to suck due to dredge being the default sideboard plan for most decks in the field.

DrewskiTheLegend And the entire sideboard for dredge was to hate on graveyard hate. My list which I have kept together, but is long out of date, rand 4 chain of vapor, 4 Emerald Charm, 4 Gemstone mine, and 3 city of Brass with the 4th city of brass in the main board as a 16th sideboard card. I piloted combo, but lent out my ichorid deck to my close friends.We used to play in NorCal, and I actually won a Vintage event against LSV himself, and took multiple top 8's and top 4s along with my friends. One friend also beat LSV on his way to winning an Ancestral Recall. Manaless Ichorid was for real. I don't know how good it is now, this was in 2006-2008. My understanding is it still has a presence.

I guess manamorphose doesn't count... What about Noxious Revival? It can do good! I experimented with it in storm, it can get you your land drop when you need it and it playing a manamorphose and Noxious reviving it then gitprobing into it and casting it again is pretty sweet.

Power we're too obvious, it isn't even debatable that they are the best magic cards of all time. They don't include them on any list because they would always be at #1

Only two of the Power would make a list of the most powerful 5 cards in Magic history (Ancestral and Lotus at 1 and 2 in a debatable order). Mana Crypt, Tolarian Academy, Library of Alexandria, Yawgmoth's Will, Demonic Tutor and possibly others would be ahead of Moxes or Time Walk, and Timetwister would be behind Brainstorm, Gush and many many other cards.

They probably just mean zero mana cost. So any card with a non-mana ACC would count as would Pacts, Leylines, some Traps, pure-Phyrexian mana cards, etc. You could even argue that the entire cycle of Urza block untap spells like Rewind is free because there is no net mana cost.

DISTRACTION BULGE! I laugh at the demeaning of Surgical Extraction. The card obviously removes any threat from any deck while being played from any deck, but the intangible part is if you get rid of a 4-of, you just gave your opponent 3 less non-land draws (if 3 were in the deck). Surgical Extract also forces an opponents deck shuffle. Ponder? Ok, lets get rid of all of those and remove that 2-card play you just set up. It's a much deeper card than what its obvious effect is.

Black Lotus costs zero mana and has no additional costs. This is in comparison to spells that have alternative costs that involve (for example) paying life or exiling cards from hand, but cost no mana. If those are free and Black Lotus is not, how exactly are we defining "free " spells?

Before every top 8 I always make a prediction list and see how close I got. I guess my interpretation of a free spell is different. I was thinking about cards that have a converted mana cost of zero. 1. Black Lotus 2. Mox cycle 3. Mana Crypt 4. Opal Mox 5. Chrome Mox 6. Lotus Petal 7. Mox Diamond 8. Zuran Orb

"Free spell" means alternative non-mana cost and not zero CMC like black lotus no L.E.D. , no dismember (partial "free") etc. yeah misstep would be worth to mention at least even though no top8 (R&D Magic hated it obviously) also: Invigorate, Not of this World

No it isn't. When you evaluate and compare two powerful cards, one of which is banned to a one of in the most powerful format, you have to evaluate them in a vacuum. In a vacuum, FoW is very good. It stops unfair decks from going off as well as giving you a huge tempo swing when you play your five or six drop and then counter theirs. There, however, lies the fundamental problem with counterspells. They are reactive, not proactive, which in a vacuum is not very good. Lotus, however, is proactive.

Black Lotus costs mana, the cards on this list are either mana cost removed or paid with life. There are a few cards that give you more mana than what the CMC is (none as good as black lotus), but none of them are considered "free" cast. They're making a specific list, not a list with "also black lotus lololololol" on it.

I'm not saying FOW banning/restricting would improve formats but other than belcher, what "unfair" decks would be so over-powered, I mean it's not like SI and all those decks are top teir, and there's misdirection and flusterstorm that are not used all too much in sides or mains because FOW is better. Has anyone actually tried the format without FOW to see? maybe if FOW was out and a misdirection for abilities was printed, or a lesser FOW, or some other ley lyne type cards to nerf these "unfair" decks (why must it be for blue only)
