Love this idea to make use of swatches! I've used this knot method for joining and have noticed that if you don't tie the knots exactly like you demonstrated, they can come undone. Something about the direction of the knot can cause it to loosen instead of tighten when pulled together. Your demonstration was the easiest to follow that I've seen. Thanks!

So glad you found this tutorial helpful! I've heard of the knots coming undone for others, but fortunately they've held up pretty well for me. You might be right that it's a matter of looping the knot the wrong way!

Cool! I saw someone making a amigurumis /plushie bunny with that type of «yarn», and the result was very neat!!!Thank for the video!

Smart recycled materials. I use my small pieces for making random acts of crochet kindness. But I would like to make one of those bags. Namesta 🤗🐞🥰

Less frogging and fewer ends to knot or weave in. Happy to email you pictures if you're curious what they look like.

Have you found this join to be stable?

Personally, I haven't had any issues with it coming undone. I've heard others talk about it not working well for them, so I think it's one of those where it depends on the person. I make sure my knots are really secure before I cut the tails though. Hope this helps!
