Seeing Gary at your home reminded me of my mom. We lived in a 3 room apartment , (not 3 bedrooms, 3 rooms). Many holidays at our “ table” there would be a surprise guest ( a surprise to us, not mom). The guest was a local person that worked at our supermarket, or one of the guys from the gas station next door, or the custodian at our school….once a teacher from our school…all our special guests were going to spend the holiday alone, often they had lost a loved one or were recently divorced. Mom never let anyone spend the holidays alone. Our tiny apartment was crowded, my parents struggled financially but they always made sure no one spent the holiday alone. Thank you for the memory, mom is gone now , our boys are grown but we always keep an ear out for the next special guests. God Bless you and your beautiful family 🩵🙏🏼

I don't give to charities anymore. I go to my dollar store and do bags up for men and woman ,warm socks ,gloves, toques,scrafs ,toiletries, and snacks and hand them out to the homeless

By having a sister who volunteered at Church run and private thrift stores like Goodwill I found out that the volunteers get first pick of donations or at a greatly reduced price 😢. Yours is a great idea. God bless you.

That light of the world kiosk is such an incredible thing. More communities should offer that. Ive pnly seen giving trees before and theres not many of them anymore. The card walls are pretty cool! That’s a lot of cards. My grandma used to send and receive a bunch every year so we would cover a door with wrapping foil and she would work on hanging the cards as they arrived!

As a high school teacher, I must say it’s so fun when kids bring us gifts. It isn’t expected at all, but makes our hearts happy that we were thought about. It was nice to see the different things y’all do with the kids. It’s just great. The trip to Bass Pro shops made my day. I live down in Bellingham Washington and it’s about a 2 Hour Dr. I think down to the nearest Bass pro shop and I miss going. I have taken my Christmas cards in the past...let the kids pick their favorite cards...glue to poster board the size of a placemat...and cover with clear contact paper...I still have some 50 years old..with the memories of a fun craft day...
