I've climbed Mt. Fuji ... once ... in very bad weather. No sunrise for me. But I did it. I had to buy new legs afterwards, but it was worth it. I've been near Mt. Fuji to get some nice views of the shy volcano many times, but just like you guys, I wasn't exactly lucky as most of the time that bastard is hiding behind clouds. ;) I've been to Hakone several times and not even once was the weather good. How did you do it? XD .... Yummy food! Gimme!!!!~ I hate that they sell the eggs only in packs of five. If you're alone you gotta eat all 5 eggs. Well, I guess I'm going to live forever cuz I've eaten quite a few of them during all of my visits. ;P They're delicious, aren't they? ^___^

Rotorua was pretty nice when I went. We stayed at Ann's Volcanic Motel? I think. The drive there from Auckland was interesting for me, because the landscape is just so different from Canada. The only bad thing was that a guy t-boned us in a roundabout, lol. On my thirtieth birthday. And of course, on my side. We had to drive back to Auckland the next day with thick plastic duct taped to where my window used to be. XD

I love Hakone and the famous onsen hot springs! I'm not sure if it's true or not but the locals say that Mt. Fuji is a shy gal and likes to hide behind the clouds. So it's rare to see it on a nice sunny day.
