You are looking for unreasonable moves. 5:12 + 5:26 picked cards on the same spot. No reason at all. In fact Teller's shell be just pulled up, no reason to drag it into the middle. Unless you have a spy camera there or magnetic reader. * Quick leave I observed it long time ago, they all leave as they were waiting for toilet for a long time. It is in the contract, for they all respect it. After thinking over, I agree with it. They have their time to shine. If they were sticking around after, they would steal the show from P&T. They have to act as Kings, dismiss the people, so they can lift them up high. ** I was just thinking about this yesterday. Without the Show, I would never see 99% of them.

Despite what he said, I think the cards were marked but not in the usual way of coloring in something (which P&T would easily see). Whenever he spreads them out on the table, they are a little uneven, meaning the surfaces aren't completely smooth. The backs of the cards probably have some light scratches on them...

He somehow knew the cards.. and the rap that he sing was might be a clue to the assistant waiting .. so that he knows what cards they pick... and iam 100% sure.. that his rap was a signal.. but i have no idea..how he figured out their cards...
@derenkov5 жыл бұрын
he knew the cards its not hard to memorize 52 cards in random order the easiest way is to do it by 13 cards then 13 cards then 13 cards etc, and you have a code hearts then spades then diamonds, then clubs so the shuffled deck can be like (you choose how to memorize the 13 cards , the following is random you can do anything so it looks like a shuffled deck) (K of hearts, then 2 of spades, then J of diamonds, then 5 of clubs, then 9 of hearts, 3 of spades, Q of diamonds, 8 of clubs, 10 of hearts, 4 of spades, 6 of diamonds, 7 of clubs and finished by Ace of hearts, so your first 3 cards are memorized with formula K2J593Q810467A then you do other 13 cards with same order K2J593Q810467A but this time start with king of spades since spades is after hearts (last king was K of heart)s, then 2 of diamonds etc , then you know all you can memorize all 52 cards, then you can shuffle like he did without breaking the order, then you know what cards they took , you tell the guy through rap what cards they are, and he plays the recordings

That was a really cool performance, and I honestly didn't see how it was done. I can think of a few ways it might have been done, and some of the comments have great ideas. On this one, Penn and Teller did a great job of leaving the effect secret. We only have guesses. Great job by Kevin Blake...fun rap. Oh, as for the prerecorded music. Kevin Blake did A LOT of pre-work. He had to record 104 versions. 52 for both Penn and Teller. He didn't fool them, but it was quite fun to watch. As for magicians leaving quickly. Sometimes, I wish they would stay for a second longer. Sometimes, I'm ready for the next performance. Sometimes, I bet they are ready to get out of there...especially if they feel like Penn said too much, which he occasionally does.

The shuffles are interesting. Could the trick have worked if they were riffled? (or whatever you call it) I had a trick deck once where the card shapes weren't exactly square, off by 1mm to where if you removed some cards then flipped the deck then stuck the cards back in the edges of those cards would stick out thus allowing that kind of shuffle to pull certain cards out and get placed in a certain order during that kind of shuffle. Could be that teller's side of the deck were all his card and Penn's side were his card. But just a guess here.

Yep that’s a production thing; They want the magician off the stage as fast as possible to get the line to break in and setup for the next act. Each taping is at least 3 hours long and there’s 2 tapings per day. They have to have rehearsal in between tapings also so it’s a long day for the crew.

I agree with your interpretation 100% although l think he directs the off-stage recording this way: "are you sure you want *that* card Penn" we know is left of stage ie left side of the displayed cards and again: "are you sure Teller you want *this* card?" So *that* or *this* is the selected recording ie K of Spades or 2 of Hearts.

The fact that Penn said that it was such a wonderful act and continued to rave about it while also being disappointed when they ended up guessing the proper method of how it was done, tells me that they had GREAT respect for what he had been doing (if not on a technical level, then on a performance level). That makes me think that your latter guess of the rhyming scheme of the rap itself being a method of communication is probably more likely. Whatever the method was, the act obviously pleased Penn and Teller immensely, which made me happy because I rather enjoyed the unique manner of his performance and it made me happy to see it acknowledged :)

Ever see poker on TV? Maybe this guy had similar cameras in the table. The pre-recorded track really doesn't add much to the trick (like, he doesn't pass himself off as a mentalist.) so, I'm thinking the "magic" happens offstage. He may not have evr known what they had until the reveal.
@mohamedcherkaoui8075 жыл бұрын
I think there is someone inside the table who are able to see the card from below precisely the top middle of the table because every time he take out a card from the deck he place it there , and it is very obvious in the case of teller because he was able to give it to him directly but he take it to the middle of the table first for the person inside to see it first ( because he is the responsible for the sounds at the end and the magicien himself doesnt knew the cards until the sound speaks ). anyway that was my guess : free choice and no cards markeds
@Videotest1255 жыл бұрын
i would do that with 52 ultra thin chipset inside each card. And 2 detector under the table on in front of penn and one in front of teller. When he move the card near the detector, the technician know which one of the 104 records he has to run

I understand how the trick is done, but I have no clue why the red car is there haha even with you explaining it I thought. If there is a soundstage guy helping with recording which obviously there is given Kevin didn’t cue music onstage. The question is was the sound engineer in on it or have a colleague of Kevin’s there to help show what to cue and when. But if that’s what happens, no code would be needed from Kevin to sound stage as they more than likely know the setup of the cards with a fake shuffle even though it looked real. Or a card reader underneath like camera or other device that senses the weight of the card or any number of unique traits used to differentiate the card. I assume this happens either after sliding the card into the middle after the selection or possibly under their hands as he places the card for them to then cover with their hands
@AB212 жыл бұрын
I just dont understand what is the need for the pre recorded sound, If he knows the cards why not just rap it himself? So imo there is something on the table where someone backstage can see the cards and cue the sound.
