I was fortunate and lucky enough to have been shown how this was done by Joshua Jay himself at the Blackpool Magic Convention in February this year and for those of you who think the props can't be examined, they CAN be examined beforehand and you can thoroughly inspect them as well !!!! Thumbs up David on this video - such a lovely work of art and I strongly suggest anyone to goto the Blackpool Magic Convention as well 3 days of nothing but magic stalls, lectures and it's damn easy to make friends there and you also see and meet famous magicians too Best 3 days of any weekend for me personally Love it !!!

@@magicorthodoxy Do you have an IG page and/or fb I can follow you/add you on? I love your videos as I'm hard of hearing and your voice and clarity of explanations are perfectly spoken and detailed for me (I'm from London so hello from across the pond) and love how clear and well spoken your videos are

I got to meet Joshua Jay at Magic Live 2018 and was able to watch him perform this from about two foot away. It looks amazing in real life. I am not a performing pro, but almost wanted to buy this just because it looked so amazing to see in real life. Great review!!!

I seen a magician do this at a holiday resort in the UK. He did: 1. Balance 2. Card appearing 3. Hand, nail and paperback with kid as a assistant (the lid almost cried it was quite intense) 4. Body tilted 90 degrees trick 5. Cardboard box and sticks

What a great review! Although this is not my style of magic, I think it’s an outstanding effect! Your advice on the “so what“ kind of trick and magicians making a good trick a “so what” trick is a gold nugget! Great advice!

It seems that this illusion is based on Paul Harris’s “Tensgrity”. One can build this illusion for under $10.

I never know what to make of this effect but damn the gimmick junkie in me stays interested lol. I think maybe if I could find or make a base and clear plastic cover (like a display showcase) it might be a really nice ‘warm up’ piece. The cover could be slightly tinted to deal with the lighting up closer to audience after it is built. It is supposed to look delicate and precarious so encasing it is justified and then it could be left out for the rest of the performance. As a “if you were wondering how I practice, this is how I warm up” opener it might have real legs.

This has to be one of the dumbest tricks ever. Non examinable and $200...just terrible. This is more like a science experiment/project, not a magic trick. I hate this. Lol. The price is absolutly ridiculous.
@magicorthodoxy4 жыл бұрын
Dan White does this on stage as his intermission and then during the break people go up to the stage edge to stare at it
@jaytpmc4 жыл бұрын
@@magicorthodoxy like, I said, less like a trick or effect and more like a science experiment. If u watch when Jay showed this at blackpool on Chris Ramsays video people were compleatly unimpressed. Its like remember those little toy birds you could buy that balance on your finger? People are just gonna figure its somthing like that, or magnets ect. I just dont see the appeal at all. I mean its a cool display peice, but thats about it..imo
