It's a real shame about the length of the cable and also why does the cable disconnect from the battery and then have another connection half way along the cable? Seems unnecessary. They could've just had a one piece cable and make it relatively short with a built in Velcro to tidy up any loose bits and then for those that want to use it head mounted, offer an extention or a long cable that can be purchased separately. I imagine 99% of people would use it on the bars instead of on their head so would've been nice if they optimised for that. Another thought I had was if the battery had fidlock mounts on it, then you could have a super clean setup with the battery mounted directly to the frame. If it was as clean as that I would've probably bought it by now!

Question. Does it reliably maintain the higher outputs without automatically stepping down due to heat? Coming from the Cateye Volt 6000 which had COB LED and used fine alloy fins cooled by a fan. Was a great light but apparently they didn't consider rain because it became unreliable, with the brain going wonky erratically dimming or turning off. Not good miles out in wilderness. Learned my lesson jumping on the latest and greatest so a bit cautious.

Agreed! I’m very interested in this setup, but also hesitant because I read this light dims 30%+ after only a few minutes.

Would this be useful for riding on the country lanes in middle of nowhere. I need something basically equivalent to what you'd have for motorvehicle and I don't have the greatest eyesight so it's even more important I have light good enough to see in the pitch black with a good field of vision.

I got that cateye 6000 more like 7000 will probably buy this also as the cateye is very wide throws light every where

talk to much, no experiment, no comparison, shine the light on the canvas doesnt do anything, get off the chair do something fun to it.
