Great test! Sorry you had to pedal it back without power. These bikes require a lot of effort to ride without the electric motor assisting. I recently received the step-through version to test. I have 100 miles on it so far and love it. It's my first e-bike so I'm getting used to managing the extra power. I'll be using mine as a commuter bike until I retire at the end of this year (2022). Thanks for all the great detailed information. The brakes have been improved on the current models. I heard that the earlier models suffered with poor brakes. I can skid my tires on mine - found out about that when a car pulled out in front of me and I had to make a quick stop. Take care!

Consider doing a follow-up video of your throttle only range test after riding it a couple hundred miles. I've noticed an increased range from my Magicycle the more miles I've racked. Maybe a break in is required. My percentage indicator seems lower than it really is while riding. But then after resting a minute jumps to what seems like a more accurate reading.

Thanx for going through the Pain LOL another very useful video. I have my tires at 22 PSI, but I'm going up to 27 and see how that helps, I'm a big guy at 240+ if I need a smother ride I'll get a new center post to go with my Cloud9 seat.

I have had my Magicycle Cruiser since the beginning of April, I have about 700 miles on it and routinely get 55-60 miles out of the bike.I do pedal maybe a bit more than the average rider , and don’t go any higher than PAS 2,and do love gunning that throttle for the speed factor a lot of times.I think a mileage range like that is great for combination battery/human power.Oh ya, I’m 68 years old and in great shape!

I would have figured you'd get around 30 miles. 52V x 15ah = 780Wh (Watt hours) / 25 Wh per mile = 31.2 miles. I use that formula. Of course it depends on where I'm riding; how much uphill vs downhill etc., but so far it's been fairly accurate. It can help you plan your route and avoid having to manually pedal or walk the bike home. I find an eBike is a lot harder to pedal than a regular bike when you've got no power cuz you're pushing the motor also.

Thanks for your work . 24 miles is impressive considering it weighs a lot. Also as much as we want these electric vehicles to last 50- or better yet 100 miles it’s not feasible unless you had an insane electric battery strap to the bike, but then again the weight would be 40+lbs on its own. I look forward to the day where the efficiency of a small weight battery that has the capacity of a 100amps+ battery 🔋 strapped to any bike of your choosing. I have to go back and see what range you got out of the huge 21amp Beecycle which is a great amp to have. I can do without the color of the bike and maybe the top bar swoop.

When I shut my magic cycle off even for just a couple of minutes the battery build back up, I'm wondering what would have happened if you would have done that
@madderbob1003 жыл бұрын
It doesn't build back up. The cells in the battery level out-but they will drop back down quickly once you get going again
@danimayb3 жыл бұрын
It all comes down to voltage, Every ebike system will have a cut off point where it will give you no more power to safe guard the battery - The battery itself has a management system that will shut off at a certain voltage, And a typical controller will have a setting for that too.. That's when the fun is over and time to charge. When a battery is fully charged it will be at it's highest voltage, As it gets used that voltage will deplete.. But as you draw power the voltage will sag and bounce back again when realigning, That is what you see on an ebike display with an energy bar. So, The lower you are on voltage the lower towards the cut off you'll be when drawing power with that voltage sag, This will result in cut off temporarily and then you'll get power back when realignment gets you back to safe zone.

Only 24 miles? I was expecting a longer range than Himiway Cruiser. So Himiway's 28.5 miles still remains the top 1 in range for now? 🤔

I was able to get 25 miles out of the Magicycle (kzbin.info/www/bejne/bIKlYZiPZ6d8pKc) so pretty much the same result as you. Thanks for the video! What was the total actual time for the final miles? For example, A MAX range of 20 miles, covered in an hour , is a very different result from traveling 20 miles in two hours. Without the time (mph) factored in, a lower powered bike with a smaller /lower amperage battery that has its "flat out" speed limited for economy by the factory ", might seem to be a better performer.
