I just tried to record audio from my phone headphone output connected to the computer mic input. I could see the microphone meter on Windows sound moving which to suggest there's audio signal sent to the computer. I could also see when I clicked on the peak control button, the microphone meter under the sound recording tab showing some audio signal, however the audio meter below the peak control button showed no signal. I tried to record and got no sound whatsoever. Please advise.

Thanks for the video, however, in the Audio/Midi under WDM Device list instead of High Definition Audio Device I am seeing Realtek (R) Audio and I am still not able to record vocals. I am using a NEEWER mic.

The thing that ruins magix music maker is there is delay when you record because you can't turn off the monitor when recording which causes the delay. So you're vocals will always be pushed ahead a little

Before recording, click on the gear icon button next to the Record button on the transport section, at 5:45 and uncheck monitoring option off.

Depending on the capability of your audio interface, you can also reduce latency by reducing the buffer size. Too low, it can cause issues though. Hope this helps.

Im so sad over this..i just wanna record a song and i just cant seem to. I finally hade everything put up right and then i unplugged my usb mic and ...drama no more sound i dont know what im doing wrong. I wanna sent back my laptop but i tried another laptop and same freaking issue..i think its the magix music maker itself. Its just too hard. @@thelegend7388 You are failing to understand how audio input/output works with a PC. When you plug your USB Mic, and assign MMM to it (or it automatically detects it) you need to plug your headphone to it as well so you can hear it's output. 90% of recording software can only communicate with one audio device. PC Line/Mic in and speaker or USB Mic and headphone. Each time you disconnect your USB Mic, you need to tell MMM which device to use to output audio.

So in order for me to be able to record once again ,should i follow this video of yours again? I tried it but no luck... when i come in the settings advanced there is a red cross before the mic and it says MIC NOT AVAILABLE. So thats allso weird. I dont know how the audio settings should be sett inplace everything i unplugg the mic. I hade music maker samplitute before and it never did that. Now i have another version of magix and i only have trouble with understanding it. I will follow every stepp of this video again. I hope it wont be that or i hear only sound or i hear only voice but way too distorted to be used as a recording. Allso with the music i hear so much noises in it...it starts good but a few seconds in ,i wanna jumo threw a wall because of the distortion😖😥 is it that i have to do something with the levels of the music maker..latency or something idk oh i changed and put lower the BUFFER and it still makes the distortion noises..i dont know what im doing wrong

Condenser Microphones require +48V Phantom Power to operate. Laptops usually use Electret Mics that require just +3V, usually found with PC Skype or similar Mics and smartphone headsets, as you see me use in the video.

Hi I have a samson co1u mic but my mic does not have an aux input on the mic and its usb that plugs into my laptop. I have very expensive earphones aswell. My laptop is picking up my mic aswell as tge program. I did everything you said in the video but its still not recording my vocals at all. I sing into the mic and nothing happens. Do I have a wrong mic or something. Lots of things on my magix 2020 premium doesnt want to work. Payed so much for it and I still have to buy lots of sounds wich is so strange.

Hi, I really need your help with this. Your video make this problem seem so easy, but its not - I have been trying to get my microphone to work for almost a year now. For this test, I use my phone mic/headphones, just as you do. I plug it into the microphone slot on the computer. (tried both the back and the front one) I also follow the steps in your video: 1. I installed ASIO4ALL 2. I select the ASIO driver in audio settings 3. I check that I am plugged into the “high definition audio”. The button “realtec HD audio mic” is also glowing. Mine does not say “hadphone/speakers” though, don’t know why, because I guess it should? Maybe you can answer why not? I can choose between “HD audio line input” or “HD audio mic input”. 4. I click on audio record, but the recording is all blank. I cant hear myself in the headphones as you can either. When I check recording options, no level is going up. Its like I haven’t even plugged a microphone in. The strange thing is though, when I take my headphones out and scratch them against eachother, the level is going up, but I cant record the scratching sound even. Its like the program doesn’t recognize the microphone for being a microphone. Please respond to this if you have a suggestion or a sollution, I really really want this program to work properly. Okay, so I got it to work a little bit, but then discovered a new problem. When I record my voice, it also records the music at the same time in the recording (even though I use headphones), that is really strange...it seems like the problems never stop...sigh

The SmartPhone headphone+mic only works on laptops that have combined headphone/mic socket. Most PCs have it separate mic and line level input, as well as separate headphone output. Mine said "Realtec" because that's the audio chip inside my laptop. Yours is "HD Audio". Thats probably why you can't hear any audio from the mic. Need the correct PC microphone. Normally cheap from eBay.

You can't run MMM and other audio playback at the same time since MMM takes exclusive control of your audio device.

I am able to record the voice with a Blue Yeti USB mic.......but MY problem is not being able to acvtually hear the music tracks....so i have no way to record the voice correctly. It does not send the music tracks to my headphones and only allows one thing selected......so i can either hear the music by selecting realtek audio device....or record with the blue yeti.........both will not work. (i also cannot hear my voice while singing but thats secondary in my eyes.

Like 90% of DAW, Music Maker included, only can connect to one audio device. Blue Yeti USB not having a headphone output, there is no quick way to listen while recording. You can try ASIO4ALL to consolidate both Blue Yeti and your PC/Laptop devices.

Check your Windows Audio Recording settings and make sure "Listen" checkbox is not enabled. Normally right-click on the speaker icon on the taskbar.

thanks vatche, bless you! hope you will have demo on how to use cakewalk bandlab in recording like your video on presonus prime, by the way did you try the presonus 4? just to mention, i bought all the add ons and plug ins which cost me around 90 US dollars and then i saw your video on version comparison on prime and artist i almost sank to my chair and asked my self what have i done. anyway just recently i send a ticket a ticket to presonus and explain to them my situations and asked them to them give me discount when i buy the artist version, God is good the management gave me a 50 percent discount when i buy Presonus 4 Artist. thanks to your video it is an eye opening.

I'm using a USB mic on music maker premium and having followed the video above, it gets me to a stage in which I can record lyrics and see that the mic is working and synced with Magix, but I can't hear my voice when I speak into the mic, and I can't hear any of the lyrics I've recorded. I've been trying to record into MM using a guitar link USB. It registers within the Windows mic settings showing input, however no matter what I do, I have no audio when recording in MM. I downloaded a cheap external audio program (limited to 100 seconds) and it was able to record to that. Is this a limitation of MM?

I suspect (since I don't own one) Roland Go does not have the internal audio bus structure to handle what you are planning to do. It simply combines multiple inputs and sends to USB to iPhone.
