22:15 Jorge Diaz-Rullo completed his first ascent of 'Change' (a 9b+ harder than Move) shortly after this video. Becoming the 5th person ever to do so, Alex Megos beat him by a few days - you can see him warming up in the video for the route.

@@realidadaparte Seb Bouin also said Change is 9b/b+ (with kneepads) but Move is 9b+ (no kneepads). Megos recently said Move could well be 9b+ without kneepads (but he used kneepads). Ondra did the first ascention of both routes without kneepads. To downgrade a route you should climb it in the same conditions as the FA. Edu Marin said that a few years ago and I agree with him. But that doesn't take away anything from Jorge, who is a beast of a climber.

Magnus makes very good amateur climbers look like goofs in his videos, and this route made him look how I look on a gym route. That really puts Adam’s accomplishment into perspective. And kudos for Magnus’s honest editing - he didn’t try to make himself look like a hero here, just wanted to show respect to those who did/are doing it.

I have no idea why, but hearing that little dog bark into the ancient Nordic cave was awesome! Perfect editing all around. The VO level was perfect for continuity but the little bark with such an extended reverb was crystal clear, plus the timing of the music beat... dude - that kind of attention to detail on the videography aspect is why this climbing channel is so popular. That's the kind of polish that even when you're not paying attention to it, it adds magnitudes higher user experience and perception even for those without an ear/eye for it. The editing sets this channel apart. I wish I knew how to do all of that - not sure if I'd bottle it and sell that information for other aspiring content creators or keep it a secret and profit as much as possible from being "in the know." All that from a little doggie barkie. But seriously - I'm impressed.

I mean, the editing isn't the only reason Mr. Mitdbo is so popular. His obvious skill, likeability, and let's all be honest, physique, contribute to his KZbin success, but I mean there are other fit athletes out there making content that don't get as much popularity as Magnus, and I think that part of it has to do with the way his videos are produced. This was my favorite video you have ever done. I climbed a few 5.12 boulders in the 80s when people doubted the existence of 5.14, and to see people moving on this is really special. You did great, and I'd love to see what progress you could make in a month on it.

Watching Stefano (sp?) climbing was art. He's so strong and so fluid on this route, he makes it look like it's not superhuman to clime Silence, when actually it's the limit of human achievement in the field. Rooting for him to succeed. As usual another beautiful video from you Magnus!

I feel like a lot the audience now forget that Magnus is a climber through and through regardless, because of all of the other video content he does. But really this is the bread and butter thats makes Magnus and the channel what is it, and the foundation for everything essentially. Just really cool to do see you on the ropes and doing some lead tbh man! You genuinely look strong as well, would be cool to see you project hard stuff on a rope or boulders outdoors again, but I guess the issue is your so spread out between alot of things nowadays and just aren't as focused on one thing anymore (e.g. hard project climbing).

This kind of reminds me of that one basketball player who was criticized by the fans, so he challenged anyone to beat him. He later said "I'm closer to LeBron than you are to me." Magnus is crazy strong compared to most climbers, but this video really shows that 9c is a whole other thing in itself

yes magnus is quite humble next to the big names, but he still is a world-class athlete and former world cup climber. He didn't lose all that strength since he continued training a lot. He was definitely closer to the top than the bottom though since he did some podiums in world cups but I think the dedication to top level is the most troublesome thing for him right now not the ability.

@@arielbadw1368 Maybe putting 2+2 together, but see the video of Magnus bouldering with Dave Macleod. Dave said: I've kept getting stronger into my late 40's, and the rate of progress is slowing, but I'm still strong than I was in my 30's. A light came on in Magnus' eyes. Bing. I swear. Post comp magnus can still progress outdoors, I thinks, and I think Magnus realises it.

@@PB-sk9jn Yup, that. And Tomoa telling him he could still do boulder comps if he wanted to. That was no empty talk and you could really see it sink in, I think. Not that pappa Magnus will start competing again, but just that he is still strong and skilled enough.

These outdoor climbing videos that are also interviews with great climbers are my favorite hands down on the internet. No one else captures it the way you do. I also enjoyed seeing you on it. Obviously you are very strong, and to see you struggle shows how hard it really is. Also shows off the talent of Stefano, and Alex. It would be fun to watch a trio with you guys all working on it. P.S. I must have felt amazing for you to be able to do so many of the moves! You seemed surprised with yourself.

I thought that a few times, but then the constant cuts during the actual climbing was terrible. This like "Liam Neeson jumps over a fence" level of bad. You can't follow any of the movements. How does he make the clips? Even if he's cheating the clips, I want to see that!

It is inspiring to see how the developing climbing developed also the personality of the climbers here. We are in a especially good times of climbing because people like Adam, Stefano, Alex and many others brought top climbing to a very beautiful place where "competition" and the quest becoming the "best" can coexist with camaraderie, friendship and the love of climbing. Awesome work Magnus.
