Magnetic Island was fascinating! What a great place to spend your time in the military during WW2. I can relate as I spent a bit of time in Diego Garcia in the early eighties. Gotta love tropical island postings :)

Oh,now that looks familiar,and brings back memories.I'm glad you got to see some koalas above you in the trees,definitely a high light. Amazing as you said,and your imagination can keep you busy for hours contemplating everything involved in the building of all of that,and the day to day operation of it all.
