I am now 68 and an Indian. The love of basic physics has never left me even after I retired from my professional life long ago. Listening to Prof. Anderson's lectures has become irresistible to me . He makes complicated problems appear so simple as if he were solving them in his sleep. Hats off to the dear professor! How I desire all could be like him.

Now this really made my day. Congratulations on continuing your interest in physics even after retirement. Very inspirational. And thanks for the compliment. I don't pretend to be supernatural at this stuff, I've just been doing it for a long time and try to keep getting better every day. It gives me (and indeed my family) a great deal of pride knowing I have touched so many wonderful lifelong learners out there. People like you are the inspiration to keep going. Cheers, Dr. A

Please get tuned into facts, 1. anti gravity is a product of the center field of a magnet. 2. the center of a magnet when vibrated will repel water 3. If you vibrate granite rock with the center field of a magnet at the correct frequency it will turn like butter. that's just the beginning it will play a Hugh part of our country's future. The anti gravity is only applicable to none iron type material such as glass or plastic. If you have a bar magnet simply tap the center near a trickle of water and watch the water move out of the way. Tap the center field on any none metalic surface and watch it loose weight. You can not use a sign wave type vibration it must be saw tooth . A sign wave signal contains the centerfield, that's what pushes AC and radio signals around the world. A sign wave has three elements on an oscilloscope you only see the two , On a scope you see the positive cycle and the negative cycle you never see the most significant part of the cycle and that is the center field that produces the energy to push the energy forward!!! There is allot to be learned about the magnetic center field .. Please help spred the news ..

Thank you professor Matt Anderson. I watched two of your lectures, two years ago. Theoretical learning takes time to settle in, even longer time to produce practical implementations. I had a DC brushless motor to fix. The electronic driver was burned and one of the coils was burned. I was lost for parts. I waited a day , to find a practical solution, then I remembered your lessons. I took out all the stator complex, including the electronic driver, and threw it away. I winded a simple circular plastic ring with enameled wire. The inner side of the plastic ring is shielded by aluminium foil and mu-metal. The windings are perpendicular to the magnetic field of the outer rotor. I added one resistor. It works perfectly. No electronic driver, nor multiple coils. One coil and one transistor- that's all the stator. One's greatest asset is his learning. Society greatest asset is its teachers.

Only if he was correct, which he isn't. He thinks there are virtual photons being emitted from a magnet, lol, pmsl, ha ha ha!!! No such thing. A "photon" is an abstraction, a mathematical prediction that has never been the input or output of any experiment conducted. Moreover, as Dollard points out: "One line of dielectric induction, Psi, and one loop of dielectric induction, Phi, in union, give rise to one unit (Photon)." So, please do not listen to Cultist of Bumping Particles as they are leading in a merry dance of Feynman.

Here are the facts of magnetism: The geometry of magnetism/dielectric is the toroidal/hyperboloid formation of constructive and deconstructive interference i.e., co-eternals that make up this ab-extra - qualitative - divergence. There is no such thing as magnetic attraction. It is dielectric acceleration to a null point in counterspace. Gravity is nothing more than dielectric acceleration to a null point in counterspace. (And before you say what about humans - we are bioelectromagnetic bodies that have the same field that is accelerated towards the Earth. I would suggest that you look at magnetism under a Supercell (see the geometry of magnetism) and a Ferrocell (watch the plane of inertia change as two magnets accelerate together) as to get a better understanding of what magnetism actually is.

Into my 20s, I could not draw a straightline. In between life choices, I took 2 junior college courses one for "drawing" and the other a drafting class. I'm still not much of an artists, but I can draw a straight line, and use a few "architecture" patterns to make the drawing look grownup.

Wow that was a quick response mahalo, Matt I love your visual learning style recently I posted a new version of Cosmic Compass on my biologicalcompass.com website I made copies of it & distributed it amongst the leading astronomers forum here at the Imiloa Astronomy Center & to my astonishment they all agreed it was done right when in fact I deliberately did it all wrong! So I decided to take this cosmic reversal further by applying Hawaiian astronomical observations presently working on that one.

What exactly is magnetism on a quantum level? What's going on with the particles, and why does it manifest itself as attraction and repulsion on the macroscopic scale? Finally, why are electricity and magnetism interconnected? Just a few questions I've been searching for answers. Does anyone know?

This looking glass method he mentions is intriguing. Notice 1st he's left-handed. So, when he writes he has got to be seeing his text just as we, the viewers are, or he'd have the supernatural ability to write in reverse. So, we are not just looking at him thru a transparent glass fixture, or we'd see his text in reverse., right? Of course, try it. So, his text is being projected to a mirror and redirected to the viewers, but some device? Well, Dr. Anderson what is going on? I love this method by way. It's just something that won't leave me alone as I watch...I keep thinking now, how are they doing that? hmmmmm. Looks like a 1st-year college course in physics. Can't wait to see how he approaches QM with this method, will be great for the standard model and its myriad of particle interactions. Okay, just looked at the intro and now I understand. It is a projection as I suspected. I'll leave the comment as it is now, anyway. The right-hand rule to determine the direction of force has always bothered me since it makes this physical quantity tied to a human appendage. It would be better to define the rule as being a permutation of a periodic function, since it clearly is just that.

@@jetkingknight Thx Jetkingknight q, the short clip shows exactly how it's done. I am noticing this is fast becoming a standard method of class instruction. I imagine the next innovation will be a 3D projection into space, in which students can interact with the projection. Though, this is outta my area of mathematics any topologist would love to teach like that. So, a student watching a lecture on the Poincare Conjecture could put their hand into the interior of this 3- sphere. That would be a leap forward in teaching! Imagine a closed model of the universe unwrapping onto the audience! Or the idea of surjective mapping taking an actual student then mapping onto another in the audience with a 3D projection.

Try learning what magnetism is first: The geometry of magnetism/dielectric is the toroidal/hyperboloid formation of constructive and deconstructive interference i.e., co-eternals that make up this ab-extra - qualitative - divergence. Now stop listening to cultist of bumping particles because this guy does not have a clue.
