Suleiman Punishes the Janissaries "NOTEWORTHY PUNISHMENT OF SULEIMAN"
Magnificent Century Episode 121 👉 • Magnificent Century Ep...
Mustafa saves Selim from the janissaries. However, Selim keeps Mustafa responsible about what happened. Selim realizes what awaits for him for the first time if Suleiman dies.
Hürrem confesses Mustafa, who saved her son's life, something shocking: "I wish you were my son."
An unexpected guest from Rustem past comes to the palace. His brother faces up to Rüstem after years. The character Sinan is performed by Serdar Orçin.
Mihrimah realizes Selim's fears and has a big quarrel with Mustafa. Mihrimah has to make a choice. Mustafa's life for Bayezid and Selim's lives.
Mustafa irreversibly rides for a fall because of Mihrimah's betrayal!
Will Suleiman the Magnificent get over his illness? Will the doctors be able to relieve his pain with iced water? Will the ones who supports Prince Mustafa accede to the throne become successful on their plan?
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

This was the moment Mustafa lost the crown. Suleiman knew Mustafa was too powerful and jeopardized his throne. Everything else Hurrem did was just icing on top.

Actually in his letters somewhere sulaimon wrote that the thought of giving his kingdom to Mustafa left him in a cold terrified sweat. This Mustafa in here was a good guy but the real one I think was probably not.

@@The_Golden_Imp Did you read the history or just making and throwing things up? the actual Mustafa waited for 38 years and never rabbled. He could have thrown Suleman long time ago but he wanted the throne to be inherited not forcefully taken. This was also reflected from Suleman's own poetry during his later days when a Drunkard was waiting to inherit his throne and "womansplaining" have taken over the empire. Hurrem's manipulations is also mentioned in Suleman's poetry but it was too late. This was also addressed by Yahya Effendi that Suleman Murdered his son based on false accusation and blindly trusted the Witch, Yahya left his job after this incident and created Yahya Efendi Külliyyesi. Mustafa could have died in fighting Suleman but he gave his life by trusting his father who tricked him.

@@susanparker9581 Suleiman said he always had an internal battle going on between his more aggressive, conqueror self and his intellectual, art, poetry and peace-loving self. In Mustafa he saw a dangerous warrior and potential traitor. Selim, in spite of his defects such as excesses in wine-drinking, appealed to the cultured, beauty-loving side of Suleiman. Selim wasn't a great conqueror like his dad, but he did a lot to further advances in culture, art, architecture and to maintain stability in the Ottoman empire. His greatest asset was his clever mind and not his physical strength.

This is very much the kind of strong message that needed to be enforced at such a time towards both the Janissaries and the princes given the culture of the Ottoman Empire. It was under these precise circumstances that Suleiman's father had overthrown his grandfather with the aid of the Janissaries, so this was very much a message to anyone who might dare to repeat that who was still in charge.

@@Redluna32 In the history of the Ottoman Empire, the Janissaries, over the years, grew more and more rebellious and difficult to control. Süleyman had good reason for placing such strong emphasis on loyalty, above even personal affection and family relations. As Sultan, he felt he had a duty to put the Dynasty first, to the best of his ability, even when the consequences were heartbreaking.

it was about surviving as looong as you can, hurrem sought survival, and yet no one says anything about mahidevran killing memhet. And you and I know that the secret society would rule Mustafa and that all his family would've been wiped out immediately. That guy jannissary is an excellent actor. the best I seen for years even in Hollywood.

You're talking nonsene. First you state that Suliman's a great Sultan, but then you state his decisions about 8 of his male relatives (includes Mustafa's son Mehmet) were erroneous. The males of the Ottoman dynasty were expected to fight eachother to the death for the throne. Suliman killed those who he believed threatened his throne...he did what was expected from a ruler with absolute power.

Suleiman listened to mihrimah sultan, Mustafa and Hürrem sultan. Of all 3 , he kept the words of one the most: Hürrem sultan. 3:41 you can see that he valued her words more than everyone's else. Mihrimah sultan and Hürrem sultan opened Suleiman's eyes on Mustafa.

Thank you for answering this. It was also my question, Initially I thought it was a Qu’ran also. But no matter how many times I’ve watched this scene, I couldn’t figure it out! I would think they wouldn’t cover their Qu’ran, in a hole, in the ground, covered with dirt! I would think that would be blasphemous. But now I understand it was Ibrahim’s diary. And the narration of it should’ve given me that clue. Thank you!

This is the corruption that similarly killed the roman empire. The difference is that Roman empire took 1500 years to die out, while giving people freedoms and noone today to hate romans. On the contrary, the ottomans corruption, which started by the mistake of Suleiman killing Mustafa, led to the total desolution of the empire way faster, for which noone today has any good word to say. If Mustafa lived, history would be totally different.

Of all the princes, Mustafa was by far the most balanced and qualified. If he had become Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, I think Turkey would still be in its glory days. It all seemed to fall apart when Selim took over. Murdering Prince Bayezid and his children was also a bridge too far, I adore Hurrem but she really was a viper.

What seven seas and three continents is he about? Clearly this turkey drama series are made by some turkish nationalists. During his role turkey was controlling just a part of balkans and anatolia. It will take many more years after him ro conquer arabian tribes and mameluk alaves in egypt to take that part of africa. And they didnt have control even of 2 seas, not 7 😂 Mediterranean was under Venetian , Genoan and Aragonese control

During the reign of Suleiman, the Ottomans were at their best and dominated North Africa, from Egypt to Tunisia, Anatolia, Greece, Hungary for the most part, the Balkans, and Crimea, part of Persian Gulf and Mesopotamia, that is why they are the 3 continents of his Empire. I believe the 7 seas are black, Adriatic, Marmara, Ionian, Aegean, red, Mediterranean.
