Produced and directed by Andrew Jarecki (director of the Academy Award-nominated doc Capturing the Friedmans and producer of Catfish), the film was inspired by the story of Robert Durst, scion of the wealthy Durst family. Mr. Durst was suspected but never tried for killing his wife Kathie who disappeared in 1982 and was never found. The film stars Ryan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst and Frank Langella as the powerful patriarch, and captures the emotion and complexity of this real-life unsolved mystery.

Worth a watch. Lessons to learn..... 1) it takes years to get to know someone, marry in haste, repent at leisure 2) never marry a rich man, they can literally get away with murder 3) major life choices, like.... do you both want to enter the hellhole that is parenthood, need to be discussed on your 1st few dates 4) if someone says they don't want kids, believe them, leave them, plenty other fish in the sea

10/10 film………..if you haven’t seen it and are debating……..watch it! It’s a mystery thriller……I guess if your not a huge movie buff, best way to compare it to would the style and intensity of Silence of the Lambs………..kinda hokey to compare it it like that but it has that feel…..and the acting is superb….plus…..there’s a strange twist and it based on a true story……👍🏻👍🏻

Well, there are millions of feeble-minded, blithering idiots in this country, it's never a stretch to imagine 12 of them ending up on the same jury. It happens all the time. That's why I hope I never end up on trial for something I didn't do. I just don't trust people's ability to be objective with regard to my fate, especially knowing that so many people are willing to believe just about anything they see on a Facebook meme, fact checking be damned. Now, there are also millions of people who are intelligent, science-minded and have strong logic and critical-thinking capabilities; I just hope I never have to roll the dice.

This is such an good movie. Ryan Gosling isn't bad to look and neither is Kristen Dunst😜 Also, I think his dad, may have, had her killed but Robert definitely killed the other two!!

I don't know why they chose to cast Gosling as Durst. He doesn't look anything like him, sound anything like him, or act anything like him. It's like Gosling did no research for the role.

That's because he loves himself just like the film first man..he wasn't anything like niel Armstrong except for being quit and reserved that's about it. Was good in the film a place behind the pine and drive but then he was just himself.
