Doesn't seem like he's avoiding anyone. There's a strategic element to an event like this, and what they did made the most sense. There's no use wasting Magnus or even energy on Hans. Do you trust Hans or the Chesscom Fairplay Team? Because Danny said during the state of chess that the Fairplay team 100% stands behind the "Hans Report." If that report is true, then Hans lied to everyone when he claimed he only cheated twice and never in monied games. The report says he statistically likely cheated 100s of times and in monied tournaments. I wouldn't play such a dishonorable person either. It's ridiculous that he's still allowed to play online on Chesscom.

He had a option to take rest in the championship just like every other player...he exercised that...may be due to avoid playing against hans or genuinely he was tired to play continuous rapid games. so he did nothing wrong..

@@Nick-tm2ws magnus is a sportsman, he aint a fragile ego. as for the game, i'm sure you heard the postgame interview with niemann, where he couldnt explain his moves, and 'just happened to study the line magnus played just before the game,' coincidentally. i think he did cheat. i dont think he does now. his level is as a very good player but not the elite he thinks himself.
