Hikaru: "And his opponent blunders with an absolutely ATROCIOUS move, just completely TERRIBLE and loses on the spot" The eval: +0.1
@alphaundpinsel24313 ай бұрын
this is what counts as atrocious at gm level
@Ford-Anglia3 ай бұрын
@@alphaundpinsel2431what? If the eval is +0.1, it’s +0.1 at the GM level.
@jacobgeist65802 ай бұрын
@Ford-Anglia when you have good enough players, that tiny disparity is all it takes. At the 500 level you can be +5 and it may as well be equal. At the 1200 level you can be +1.5 and it may as well be equal. By the time you get to the GM level, being + 0.3 is damn near worth resigning bc these players are so hood that they will be able to win a game with that tiny advantage
@Ford-Anglia2 ай бұрын
@@jacobgeist6580 Yes, but Stockfish isn't measuring the advantage depending on what your elo is, it's measuring at a GM+ level. So if we take into account that it is measuring at a GM+ level, then yes, it is 0.1 for GM's. Also, I don't think GM's are good enough to warrant their opponent to resign after getting a +0.3 advantage, but I can definitely see it in my head.

When anxiety isn’t an obstacle for Levy, his instincts and Chess experience really show. Also, there’s something so satisfying about Hikaru being so encouraging about Levy’s play within this game despite his prior result. I miss when they used to have their viewers battle it out while they spectated.
@Nocrii4 ай бұрын
Watching Gotham for a few years now, I 100% agree with saying he gets lost in overcomplicating things - thus being better when there are less good moves And I'm also really happy he played with his instincts. I always wanted him to play for GM like he doesn't give a hell about winning. Most of the recaps he did were like 'I wanted to play this move, which turns out to be the best move but...' He feels what to do, but doubts himself and does things that are worse for him
