If I had a nickel for everytime Magnus beat Zhigalko in the Traxler on April of 2020 I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice

I really really enjoy you reacting to games. Seeing your thought process, you guessing moves, even if they aren't right gives us an insight as to how to think about the games. Sometimes it's not helpful to just see the top move as a beginner because you don't get why its the top move, but to see the thought process that gets you to the top move. So seeing your genuine thought process, not knowing what's coming next, evaluating on your own but also having the engine evaluation to bounce off was suuuuper helpful as an 1100. Thanks for the video, would love to see more!

That's really good you just unlocked the key to "real chess" as described by Dan Heisman. Real chess is ruling out moves. Not ruling in moves. "I can't play Bxf7 because White may Play etc etc. Of course in speed games this doesn't matter much. Play classical! In speed games theory matters because that leaves more time to calculate during "critical" moments. But the foundation of calculation, tactics and principles is a must. Visualization of the board (how clear is the board in your head? How many squares can you see? Can you hold a position in your head) Is thd ULTIMATE DETERMINANT OF SKILL. Fischer said so. Magnus age 9 could already visualize the board and play at 1800 level in classical. Also IM Rosen is the best teacher out there. He deserves more and more support

Your pronunciation of "Nykterstein" is completely off 😅 It's "nykter" which means "not drinking" or "not drunk", "sober", so the opposite of "drunken". It's pronounced with an "y"which I guess is a bit hard for English-speakers. A bit like "Sycamore". Nice video!

@faznaz7455
@faznaz7455 2 жыл бұрын
Only switch to sicilian if you can handle the sharpness😅 Also to avoid traxler, or fried liver lines you can play Bc5 instead of Nf6 on the 3rd move but then you have to be prepared against other gambits such as the beloved Evans gambit.

@@faznaz7455 I’m an avid two knights defender as black when playing with 1..e5, I love the traxler but recently everyone has been playing 5 Bxf7+ opposed to Nxf7 so took the fun/winning out of it for me
@faznaz7455
@faznaz7455 2 жыл бұрын
@@zacharyheflin6794 I don’t even bother to go for the Traxler as white tbh. On Bc5, i love playing my d4 gambits or any combination that involves d4. The two knights is a great option in blitz however it’s ultimately an objectively dubious opening which can be punished in a classical game at any level above 2100. Below that, you can definitely get away with it though. It ultimately depends on how prepared the white player is.
