if you are wondering why he resigned like he did??? The game was done. 2 pawns vs 5 at this level is insulting to keep playing.. Magnus would have got a queen with one while easily defending his 2 pawns. Thats why Hikaru forfeited. There was NO point to play it out with 2 vs 5..

@@The_Jim Despite what the title says its not a blitz game. You can see the Norway Chess logo all over. There is no timer and you can see them taking a lot of time between turns.

That gesture at 14.11 from Nakamura.....mayb saved the game for Magnus, otherwise, a lil pawn push was the move by Magnus and the rest was Nakamuras game, as Magnus couldn’t save any of his pawns at the right side. 😅😅😅 and this was mainly a pawn end game. We all know how good Magnus is in this region.

These are not club players there is a point of end game where all the moves can be seen and Hikaru knew no matter what he was out numbered by Magnus with his 2 vs 5 pawns... The game was OVER before magnus took that a6 pawn with his king.
