I like your thorough explanation of the cooling system and differences between 1.7 and 2650 blowers! Keep up the good work. Lots of channels are too busy to explain.

@@ApeMotorsports thanks, I'd be imterested in more details pn the Magnuson 2650. I jist tpok the plunge amd bought one. Doing max effort build: 16 M7 C7Z. 18% lower, alky control meth kit. GP stg2 cam kit low side amd 30% over DI injector. Flex fuel cat too.

I would add port injection with e85 only before methanol and 30% over injectors. All the 30% injectors have questionable data. Low speed driving and idle performance can be hard to tune. You can then run a 32% or smaller cam lobe. We've had some longevity issues with high side pumps and 38% cam lobes. You will also need a multi-pump low side fuel system. With ported heads and a good cam, 950-1000whp at 15-16 psi is easy. I wouldn't go over that with a stock lt4 if you want it reliable. It will take more, but engine longevity is greatly reduced.

Man love my edelbrock 2650 on my 6gen camaro I do believe my iat are lower tho.so what’s the upper pulley size on the blower?

@Matt Peckham do you know anything about what removing the strut tower brace, will do with the 6th gen convertible. I have a '19 2ss convertible which I'm in the middle of building. I want to do a Maggie 2650 and build the bottom end, (headers, cam, etc)so I'm going to end up well above 700hp. I do know the zl1 vert does not have the STB. I will end up doing a 5 or 6 point roll cage so I don't know if this will offset any strength lost by the STB. Any insight would be much appreciated. My alternative route would be to Pro charge with the D-1 but as with this customer, I really like this Maggie. So with spending as much $$$ as I am I would prefer to be thrilled instead of settle for something I don't really want.

No difference in the way the convertibles drive with or without it. We race the convertibles with no tower bar.

Sick video ! ! Sounds like a motorad Thermo Stat? I was thinking of the Same Supercharger on my 19 SS Auto ! 1. Headers With x Pipe Straight Pipes W/Cat Delete stock Muffler 2. Cold Air Intake @rotofab 3. Dsx E85 Flex Fuel Kit With Sensor 4.MotorRad Upgraded Thermostat 5.Mighty Mouse Catch Can Mine is in the shop now and picking it up in two days for a cam swap and tune and dyno ! Cam Swap & Tune & Dyno . Finished in A Couple Days CamMotionCam , Johnson Lifters , C5R Chain , VVT Lock Out , ARP Bolts and Studs , Brian Tooley Lifter Trays And Valve Train Components, Valves Springs, DOD Plugs, Head Gasket and Head Bolts.

Sounds like a nice setup. We had problems with a couple of the motorad thermostats. We started using Katech thermostats instead. If you're going e85 hopefully you got at least a 32% fuel lobe on your new cam. Plan on LT4 injectors and hpfp too.

Matt Peckham yes i already have the headers e85 motorad thermostat and mightymouse Catch can and rotofab cai . Its 467 rwhp and 482 Torque . Picking up the car Wednesday for the Cam Swap and tune and dyno . ! Im getting it ready for a supercharger its gonna hit another like 100 horsepower after the cam swap !

I have a stock 19 SS. I was thinking of getting the Magnuson TVS2650 and a air intake. How much horsepower would you estimate me to be at after adding those?

Hello Matt, I’m purchased a 17 fifty edition ss Camaro would like your opinion on installing a catch can . Is that something you would recommend for the 6.2 DI ? An maybe you can explain be if it’s if there is. Thanks

A catch can is a good thing to have on ls and lt engines. They draw quite a bit of oil in through the pcv valve which is in the valley cover. The oil makes it's way to the intake ports which can start to soot up the ports and the back of the valves. Especially on the di engines where there is no fuel being sprayed across the valves to help keep them clean. Plus the engine is the always burning a small amount of oil which lowers the octane of the fuel slightly when they mix in the chamber. There is a small u shaped hose on the drivers side of the intake next to the throttle body. That connects the pvc valve to the intake. That's where you hook a catch can inline.

Thanks for the info Matt! Also I was interested in your opinion please on the Magnuson 2300. I’d love that 2650 but $$$ an just running on street was wondering if it has as good of iat numbers as the 2650?. They advertise around 500 or 550 to wheels! That would work for me but is it as reliable an safe on vehicle as this 2650? I also plan on a yearly run south about 2000 Miles round trip Thanks for any advise .

So closing the hood was no problem? And i plan on getting this. I have kooks headers longtubes rotofab, borla axkeback stock ported TB and IM with E85 fuel sensor. I DO NOT want to go over 650 on E85. So what would you suggest my baseline tune be with the Maggie before the E 85? And do you feel I will need to replace injectors etc??

Hood clearance is no problem. You will need a in-tank pump booster like a boost-a-pump or an auxiliary low side pump like the DSX setup even for just pump gas with this blower at this boost level. With a flex sensor you'll be able to mix in e85 with pump gas with the low side pump modifications up to about 20-25% ethanol then you'll hit the limit on the high side pump. That would get you to 650 rwhp. You will not be able to run full e85 without a cam with a bigger high pressure pump lobe, an LT4 pump, and LT4 injectors. Or a methanol injection system to supplement fueling. Magnuson's base tune is ok to start, but I suggest a custom dyno tune from a competent gen v tuner.

@@ApeMotorsports ok its me again. break it down in simple terns. So with the set up I have now. With the 2650 in gonna need is an tank booster pump pump thats it? As long as Im between 600-650. I might as well change the injectors to LT4 no? Not worried about the cam info

@@Zle_blacklightningAdding a 2650 and a boost a pump to what you have now will get you about 620 whp on 93 octane fuel. You might be able to mix in a little bit of e85 up to 20% or so. After that your high side pump will max. If you can swing it an LT4 hpfp and injectors is a good idea just to give you a little cushion with a little bit of e85 mix. Just LT4 injectors by themselves won't help. The hpfp will max out first.

The Prochargers make good power also, but the 2650 is an easier, cleaner install and you draw air from the front of the car vs. the engine bay over the header for the centrifugal setups.

Great video. I just purchased a 2022 ZL1 and was curious as to what kind of HP gains are you seeing from the big gulp Roto-fab cold air intakes? If you don’t mind me asking.

On a setup like this there isn't a huge gain over the 4". 5-10 whp. Once you add ported heads, cam, more fuel system and start getting above 700whp, that's where the 5" starts to show bigger gains. On an 800 whp setup it's worth 20 over the 4"

Yes. The Magnuson kits use a ZL1 balancer that adds the extra pulley ring to drive the supercharger. You can also use an aftermarket balancer like an ATI that has a provision on it to add another pulley.

Obviously that can vary based of how the car is driven. If it's tuned properly and not to the floor from every stop it can run at that power level for 100k.

@@ApeMotorsports Always wondered if my driving would last on a 680whp build for mine. Your professional opinion? I have kooks 1 7/8 headers with full exhaust, rotofab, e85. Planning to keep e85 with bigger fuel system and maggie. I drive it twice a week and it hits WOT on a roll pull once a week. It's my weekend road trip car.
