Honestly the only reason why I’d invest in MagSafe at this point is for the Belkin charging stand. It would consolidate the two power bricks I plug into my outlet, and make a nice nightstand piece. @TheShalimMiah4 жыл бұрын
1. Third party longer cables are available at very competitive prices. 2. It’s not true that third party power bricks only charge at 10W. Anker’s Nano 20W charging brick actually has a throughput of 16W, which is faster and cheaper than Apple’s own equivalent one. As long as the brick supports Power Delivery 3.0 it will provide power at the advertised speed. 3. No wireless chargers are designed to be hand held, so taking a dig at Apple for that leads me to believe that you created this video with the intention to discredit the product, instead of presenting an accurate and unbiased review. 4. This product claims to wirelessly charge MagSafe compatible iPhones at 15W, and it does what it says on the box. So I say you should 100% buy it if you need it. Hope you found my honest review useful. Enjoy! 😆

No matter what the charger, I’ve always thought the 3” cord length is a lame way to save a few cents. For all the money we spend on smartphones (again, iOS or other) anything under a 10” cord is an insulting slap in the face. I now buy my charging cords from my usual 3rd party but since Apple decided to stop sending the chargers with the device I’d like the option to have them keep their lame crappy 3” cord as well. Since they seem to think the wall wart is with $40 then give us the option to get just the device and drop $60 off the price. I could then use that money to buy my 10” cord and wall wart while still pocketing the remaining $20. Fair is fair .

Connect my phone, lay it on my console while I drive, done. The three foot cord is actually perfect for vehicle applications. Claiming MagSafe is easier because you don't need to mess with plugging/unplugging is a stretch, too. That's his point. It's canceled out by the fact that it handles exactly the same as a Lightning cable when you're done using it.

@@LL-fi4rr Hardly. Handles the same “when you’re done using it.” Right, but hooks up when you start to use it way easier than lightning. Despite being more costly, I actually like using magsafe charger on my iphone. It saves the normal wear and tear on the lightning port that comes from plugging and unplugging the lightning cable on a daily basis, and I wouldn't be surprised if Apple one day decides to eliminate the lightning port on future iphones. Complaining about having to use two hands to disconnect the magsafe charger from your phone is really just petty nitpicky complaint. Not to mention the fact that you can always get a longer cable if the 3ft cable is too short.
@AlexKittredge2 жыл бұрын
You can't replace the cable.
@farodopi51702 жыл бұрын
it only comes in 1m version so you can eventually buy an extension cord for your adapter but that’s it. a dock station. is a wary better option to me. this si just a cable. no difference with a lightning cable for me. i never wore any of my iphone port. While the magsafe does really wear the cases if you are not careful. I am a happy owner of a 2-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand with MagSafe 15W you can detach with one hand by simply twisting a bit your phone when you take it. charges your airpod at the same time. cable is long enough and included. you can charge horizontally or vertically for video watching or video calls. that’s for me a good usage of the magsafe feature of the iphone. together with the walled and magsafe battery pack. but most of all it’s super clean and fancy on your desk. your iphone is literally floating in air with this charger and it’s super reachablke. so nice

Does the magnet only work on iPhones or is it just as strong on other phones?
@nicholasrobinson63532 жыл бұрын
@@aigoated I believe that the magnets only work on the iPhone 12 and 13 models. You can use the magsafe charger as a wireless charger for other phones that use the Qi wireless standard. Although, I tried it with my iPhone 11 before I got my 13 and it didn’t work that well. I hope this helps! :)

wait a minute, if disabled people can't plug to their device, how do they separate MagSafe from their device?
@J38x7294 жыл бұрын
@@fire010g disability is complicated and everyone has unique circumstances, but for people with c4/c5 spinal cord injuries and similar, they have hand movement but no finger dexterity, meaning they can drag the charger off the top of the phone, but have no ability at all to plug in a cord. It is impossible for somebody with no finger movement to plug in a charger, but easy with arms and wrists.
@fire010g4 жыл бұрын
@@J38x729 In that case, I think the non-magnet wireless charger might be the better choice, because they can grab the phone with both hands, instead of one hand on the charger another hand on the phone.
@J38x7294 жыл бұрын
@@fire010g appreciate the suggestion, however I have firsthand experience with a person with the condition above and know the regular wireless pad is not as good. while the magnetic wireless charger would require 2 hands, the issue is more lining it up. its easier to hold the phone over the magnetic pad than over a regular QI pad which is finicky. A solution we came up with to solve this is to attach the magsafe charger to the table so he can pick the device off or knock it off the charger than grab the phone.

Fair points, but you can also use an extension cord for your power adapter. Also, if you use a multiport charger that connects to the outlet with a cord, it also solves the problem with having to be really close to an outlet. Good points about having to use both hands to remove it…magsafe seems to be better suited for stationary docks.
