Since you are doing incredibly long and detailed videos and reviews, and you´re not just doing unboxings and call them reviews, im gonna share my experience since you´re most likely to be interested and maybe show it on camera or put it to the test. This is exclusively about air cooling. Depending on the air cooler, the fan or fans on it, might not have sufficient power to draw the needed volume of air from their surroundings to saturate the cooler, or have just about enough. In a case with exceptionally good airflow, like a mesh case, what happens is that you artificially expand the area from where the fans of the cooler move air with the front fans of the case, so the air cooler depending on its size and the heat to dissipate, will experience a very hard drop in scaling or will experience very hard diminishing returns if you will, much before you reach the max rpm on the fans. For example: I have a r5 2600 at 1.41v and 4.2ghz +nh-15+meshify C, with 2x140mm sw3 and 1x120mm sw3 in front of the case. The foam filter in the mesh front panel is removed. At 140w+ there´s no difference between 1 and 2 fans. None at all. Further more, dropping front case fans and cooler fan to 1100rpm, only gets 2ºC wormer, from 72ºC to 74ºC, but drastically reduces noise. Dropping to 800rpm, it gets another 2ºC wormer, from 74 to 76. The conclusion is basically that after 800rpm, the diminishing returns hit very hard, at 140w load and lower. Using tape to simulate a define C, temperatures get a lot worst. 17ºC difference at 800rpm. But that´s not the only change. Now temperatures improvement scales much more with more RPM, getting 5ºC improvement at 1100rpm, from 93ºC to 88ºC and another 3,5ºC at max rpm, from 88ºC to 84/85ºC, so the difference reduces to 12-13ºC. However the more you drop RPM the more increases the difference in temperature. These paterns are present in GN testing charts aswell prnt.sc/uptzq2 I wrote this in 2 of your videos comment sections, to make sure you see it. Not intended for spam. Sorry if it bothers you.

Clear voice, straight to the point, and provide precise data. This is exactly what I expect in every tech review. Only a small thing is that you should've had more comparing options, maybe with the most popular and most praised cases so we can have a better look at their values. Great review nontheless.

after finally getting my hands on a RTX 30 series card (got a 3070) I knew I needed to upgrade my case. I was using the Lian Li Lancool II (not the mesh one) because I liked the design and was only running a XFX 580 at the time, so the thermals were never going to bother me. I found this case for relatively cheap on amazon and found this video before I purchased it. The way you articulated every single pro and con for the case was so intuitive and concise that I had almost no doubt in my mind that this case was worth the money after finishing this video. @@mobgripchamanrogue Hello ! I sold this PC a few months ago. The reason I sold it was nothing wrong with the PC, I needed to focus more on my studies. The case overall was still like new when I sold it. Like I mentioned the front has no dust filters which eventually needs to be cleaned every now and then. Something I have conlcuded after is that the case is too big for what I needed, if you go for a Micro ATX format motherboard you better look for a Micro ATX case. Other than that I don’t think you can get anything better for that price, considering it has an ARGB controller and 2 ARGB fans + 1 normal fan.

I wasn't refering to connecting them from the top as being just as efficient, I was referring to the drive mount being designed to accept top or bottom connected cables being just as efficient as the current design (in terms of material and cost). It's been done better (more usable) with less material elsewhere. Refer to the Q300L as an example (grommets and screws). I presume that's the justification dealt with.

My 3080 seems to run a bit hot in this case. Installed a third case fan in the middle and the memory junction temp still hovers around 92-96C. Though idk if the fans are supposed to go higher than they do, the fastest they seem to go is between 1350 and 1400 RPM. I think something is up (maybe with mobo settings?) because the new fan I installed is supposed to max around 2000 RPM, and it hovers around the same as the preinstalled case fans.

Thanks for the suggestion. But unfortunately I don't think I'm going to be looking to do any more 360mm AIO comparisons since I don't really have the CPU to properly test them. 360mm radiators are useful for really big CPUs, and the 6700K just ain't that big. It's still hot for a mainstream CPU, but not like i9, R9, or Threadripper CPUs. Sorry for the disappointment, but I don't think I'll be able to provide any useful information for big water coolers. I was going to explain why, when, and the what behind CPU coolers and case fans, but it's easier to put it this way if you're not sure. Always have a CPU cooler, and ideally have one case fan in the front blowing air in, and one in the rear blowing air out. That'll give you reasonable performance (as long as you've got a good enough cooler for your CPU - doesn't need to be the biggest and best, just ideal for the CPU). Give me a should of you want more help, just let me know what you've got and what you need (CPU, CPU cooler, and fans).

If there's a basement shroud or the PSU is withing 10-20mm or so of the graphics card, fan side down is the way to go. Otherwise it doesn't really matter, and will only affect the temperature of the PSU typically by a few degrees under full system loads.
