I considered myself so fortunate to have lived to witnessed this incredible talent. A live concert of hers was like being in the spirit world. With just her voice, a piano and organ it sounded like a symphony. We were so proud of her because she was the Black woman exhibited Black culture.

Mahalia Jackson is my favorite Gospel Singer of all times. She was a great humanitarian and Civil Rights contributor. Her rendition of "Soon Ah Will Be Done" in the movie Imitation of Life is incomparable. Watch her in the Classic Movie "The Saint Louis Blues", a docudrama about the Father of the Blues W. C. Handy. Her gospel songs are classic and popular to this day. 🙏🏾❤️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
