Mahan Air Boeing 747-300 Cockpit Tehran🇮🇷 to Bandar Abbas🇮🇷

Just Planes is very happy to welcome Mahan Air, the 271st airline in our Cockpit Series. Mahan Air operates a fleet of more than 50 aircraft, mostly widebodies, to more than 60 destinations. In this close to 5 hour film we feature the airlines main Airbus types, the A300 & A340 and we're very happy to bring you for the 1st time in our new Cockpit HD series the Boeing 747 Classic!! in this case the dash 300 which we only had the pleasure of filming once in our 26 years with Sabena 20 years ago!
The program features the A300 & 747 on domestic flights, our 1st time to Bandar Abbas and Kerman and on the A340-600 we feature a roundtrip to Dubai from Tehran International airport also for the 1st time in the series taking to 9 the number of airports filmed in Iran. As you will see our pilots are delighted to have us on board and take time to present and explain the flights and aircrafts in details.

Who doesn't love iranian captain. One day Iran Air was one of the best air carrier with it's best crew and today even if they are using old planes būt still Iran has top captains . Services onboard expected to be better . I'm taking about the behavior of the stewart towards the passengers

You only learn to appreciate the advances in aviation when you see something like this. The job of the second officer doesn't exist anymore. Glass cockpits, flight directors, advance autopilots, CAT III autolands, weather radars, RAAS. This feels almost like the barnstorming days, not a screen or MFD to be seen anywhere, how do the pilots even know where they are?

Have the computer systems been upgraded in these old planes? What if the software glitches cause wrong readings of the instrumentations? Have sanctions impacted repair and services of the planes? Thank you.

lol Where did you see a computer display in the cockpit, save for the pilots flightbag i.e ipad. this is the old "manual version" of the 747 doesn't have any flight computers so no fear of software glitches or updates, I would be more concerned about keeping the instruments in working order and where to source replacements, its all old skool steam gauges and dials, if you look at the modern 747 flight deck, its only 2 pilots now and a glass cockpit, i.e all those gauges and dials are replaced by multi function displays or MFDs. The plane virtually flies itself, pilots just help it along and are there in case something goes wrong

Iranians are very good in upkeep and maintenance, overhaul , upgrade of both military and civilian aircraft. See flight of 747 B200 from Tehran to Caracas Venezuela and comments by a German aviation expert reporter. ✌️💚🤍❤️🇮🇷🇮🇷🇮🇷🇮🇷🇮🇷🇮🇷

God..this is so old .....any aircraft with this history would be a museum or a junk yard...how can this fly, parts are so old that i think iranians are just producing them in Iran....there are 3 operators in the cabin!

Probably sourcing them second hand from decommissioned aircraft or refurbishing them in house. Yeah and a second officer or flight engineer was not uncommon back in the day. Most commercial jets had a 3 man crew some even more
