I live in Aus, but I hve been been driving the Z8 for a few weeks in South Africa. Every one comments how quiet it is for a diesel, and how solid it feels. Fuel consumption with mixed driving is between 7 and 8 l/100km. For me that is excellent for a ladder frame, fully offroad capable 4wd wagon. I am 1.94m tall and have no issues with the driving position. Cannot understand that you feel off centre... maybe have a good chiro check out your body alignment. 😉

In Aus we get these in a 6 seat configuration. I would say it's nearly better than this 7 seat configuration for functionality. An interesting car indeed and if you can get over judging the badge it seems like it's a capable and affordable car.

Very biased review. Gripe about lack of Apple car play applies only to Apple enthusiasts. Stop/start moan? Use the friggin switch to deactivate it when you start up - child's play. Noisy? Compared to a Rolls Royce but on par with its peers. Fuel efficiency? Better than Fortuner and Everest. A really biased review.

Yes, I agree with you. Mahindras M hawk engines are one of the most refined out there, competing with the best of international makers. When someone says they are unrefined...my reaction is they either lack genuine automotive awareness or are completely biased!!

A disappointing review. I am an owner. Its so easy to get up to 12 km/l on every tank. The comments on the gearbox completely in contrast to other reviews and to the truth. The gearbox is actually for economy and changes to top gear sometimes to soon. I NEVER search for the riight gear. Its not noisy. It compares very well with a Prado and Fortuner( I did own a Prado so I can say it). The only inly frustration is the stop start. But thats on all cars so I switch them all off as most drivers do. Overall its a great car, as said by the Reviewer.

That tailgate opening is something that should be changed... so impractical

I found it quite practical, I didn't have to duck underneath a tailgate to access the boot. and it takes up just as much space to open as the vertical one would. But everyone has a preference, thanks for the comment.

It's made for Indian specifications, and most family Cars/SUV's in Indian have this backdoor style opening

Lovely review and a very capable SUV that looks stunning but IMO this car needs a few upgrades at least to make it more usable. If you are interested to know its reliability then there are two KZbinrs who are taking it on a road trip from India to UK. 1. To enhance the safety of the last row passengers the curtain airbags should be extended till the end if they are really pitching it as a 7/8 seater. 2. I don't know if you noticed but there are no AC vents for the last row of passengers which again makes that space impractical. 3. I think they forgot to put 2 cup holders in the front because they primarily designed this SUV for the Indian market and we don't have a culture of taking drinks on cupholders, especially given how our road conditions are, hope they improve it lol. 4. They really need to give more options to control that start/stop functionality also in their other cars. In a bumper to bumper traffic, it will become a headache.
