Guys I booked the 3X0 AX5 PT MT after reviewing all the competitors and visiting and test driving them from the showroom. My first glance at the car was from the rear and the interior, booth looks and feels amazing when I moved into the front I almost made a choice not to get this one. I was moving more towards Sonet cz of the looks it offered. After about a week, one day while riding back home from work I saw the 3XO in flesh at the highway coming from the opposite direction, it was around evening and the sun was about to set but still there was enough daylight. Man! that look of the car in the highway changed my mind completely. The front actually looks damn good. Immediately after that I saw another 3X0 and it looked even prettier. The reason being why people are not finding this car good looking enough is because our eyes are not used to this kind of design language. Venue, Nexon, Sonet, Brezza has identical looks and that is what our eyes are used to look at. Once this car starts rolling out from the showroom and people gets used to its looks, I'm sure this car will eat up all it's competitors because this actually looks very good from the front. People who are wanting to buy this car but are skeptical about the looks I would suggest them to wait and check the car out on highways or in your locality, I'm sure you will like this car after seeing it 3-4 times.

How is your experience as an owner now? When I tried the manual during a test drive, the lack of a dead pedal and the cramped space around the clutch made it very uncomfortable, even during a 10km ride. My feet kept hitting the bottom end of the center console.

@@SpaceTruckin Purchasing the 3XO has been the best decision of my life, the power and driving dynamics feels amazing. I never felt the need of a dead pedal as I have the habit of diving some of the old manual cars without power steetring :D I'm 5'11 and I felt the same issue as hitting the centre console but I would suggest adjusting the seat as per your height. This will make you feel better and I never no complaints now as far as the sitting is concerned. The car has magical suspensions, on high speed it becomes stiff and on bad road it handles very well. All in all this car is the VFM in this segments in terms of power, comfort & enthusiasm. All that you need to enjoy you car in the long run. Mileage is a thing where you need to be little careful about but I have no complaints whatsoever. The car makes me feel good and that's what is important also never felt any lack in features. I got the AX5 PT MT

Hey guys. I had a chance to test drive the base turbo petrol with the TC automatic gearbox in Bangalore at Sireesh Auto. A friend of mine made an early booking for the car and I drove the car a couple of times around the showroom. My impressions are as follows: 1. The engine is refined, cabin noise is minimal. 2. The steering is light and easy to manoeuvre in the city. The max speed I could reach was 60 Km/h, so I don't have an opinion about the steering at high speeds. 3. The TC is quite smooth, but the gearshifts are slow if you are used to faster shifting gearboxes. But that being said, it does a good job for the type of car the 3XO is. It does not have a very aggressive 'creep' from standstill (unlike the VW 1.0 TSI cars with the TC gearbox). I came away very impressed after the test drive. I drove the AX5 variant for reference.

Prev gen TGDi Owner here. 130hp + 6 speed manual is a gem. I'm guessing M&M gave TGDi with TC only to journalists to promote the new engine + gearbox combo. A little more feedback in the steering would make me forget the already mostly out of mind ancient interiors, but the new 3xo takes care of that (interiors and hopefully the steering) I guess. The "shunt" when the turbo kicks in is real. Real hard to get started from a standstill in second. 1st gear too jerky for stop and go traffic. Prev gen didn't have ADAS and the parking sensors aren't that touchy so hopefully M&M fixes it in the final production run. Haven't tested the new one but 10/10 recommend TGDi + 6-speed manual from current experience and what I see of the new car. Everything has flaws, be cognizant of what you can live with 😉

Service: Even a metro like Chennai has only 2-3 service centers and I have to make two trips to the other side of the city to drop it off and collect it back. Good quality service but quantity is missing. And because of this their personnel are often too busy for a home pickup-drop no matter how much you're willing to pay for it

As an owner of the previous version (2021 Diesel base model) I am extremely happy that Mahindra decided to finally give a facelift that is worth considering for many others as well. I've been driving the car for almost 3 years now and I can confidently say that it is one of the best highway cars out there and the amazing combination of great fuel efficiency (around 21 kmpl) while cruising at 95-105 kmph is too damn good to ignore. The suspension I feel is one of the best in the segment and just like you guys said, the seats are very comfortable and you won't feel tired even after a full day of driving. The boot space was never a problem for me as we usually travel light but we did go to Goa for a 5-day trip with 5 on board and their luggage, and we did not feel like we were lacking space. Of course, we had to plan the positioning of the baggages which some might feel is a pain but considering that 3 of them at the back seat were able to sit comfortably for the entire 1600kms over 4 days I would say it is worth it. Overall a great car but not for someone who carries a lot of baggage 😉

Hi Gautam, I like the xuv and it is at the top of my shortlist. But I'm thinking between the T-GDI and the diesel. Regarding the diesel, 1. How is its power? Is it adequate or is it properly powerful? In case if you have driven the 130 hp petrol xuv, how close to it does the diesel come? 2. Does the xuv diesel come with the ad-blu tank? And is there anything else apart from ad-blu to keep in mind? 3. Ever since the first launch of the xuv300, I always thought its boot was more of a minor inconvenience than a deal breaker... good to see that is the actual case. If it can take 5 people's 4days' luggage, I'm not even thinking about it anymore. So, Thank you for mentioning that, fuel efficiency and highway manners. If possible elaborate/give any key details/highlights on its highway manners, if something stands out. Cheers!

When I bought my Ford Ecosport, I also went to the Mahindra showroom, which is within walking distance from my home, to look at the Bolero Neo and the XUV 300. I went there twice, but they didn't have either car available for a test drive, and they didn't seem interested in making a sale. In my experience, Mahindra and Tata have the worst showroom experiences.

same story in Noida. Couple of years back when I went to check out the 300. One feels unwanted in M&M showrooms. Huge difference from other cos like Toyota, Honda MG or even Maruti and Tata. Been thinking of buying 700x5 or the top end automatic versions of elevate/ Creta/ Seltos/Hyrider etc.

Ohh I had a similar experience. I too bought the Ecosport. I remember they gave me a Thar to test which wasn't a test vehicle and it got stuck in 3rd gear. The showroom guys told me that they will repair it and give it to me 😮 Mahindra service is at par with Tata service in terms of poor service and bad attitude.

Just planning to get the XUV 3XO AX5 variant. Gets everything I can ask for in my budget. The engine is great, even the base 1.2L petrol, it has decent ground clearance and gets the job done since I’ll mostly have a second passenger and no more than that. The interiors feel good, although they come with an inherent risk of getting dirty. The technology offered is decent, but Mahindra ADAS systems aren’t the most refined in 3XO. If you want a buy it, ride it and forget the rest car, this is for you especially if you only plan to use the first two seats. Extremely comfortable, yet classy enough especially in Black, White, Red and I like the Forest Green as well.

Small feedback. Please try to include variant differentiation in your reviews. I know it's difficult because you guys get to the top almost all the time. But to coman buyers it's a big point. Not saying to include all but best in class if it has. Because as I have noticed Nexon has a really bad variant difference.

From my family experiences with Mahindra have not been that great, my elder brother got the XUV 700 automatic, has had his front suspension, gearbox, clutch all replaced in first 4 months, yes all under warranty, but that is just bad engineering. Sold it and got a black harrier, 15000 km so far not many issues at all. My brother in law, got the XUV 300, clutch burnt out, gearbox changed twice, under warranty, in first 3 months. Man the QC at Mahindra is horrible. Not gonna recommend any Mahindra to anyone because even after paying more at delivery than booking price, waiting months on end, is this what Mahindra gives it's customers, they just suck plainly. I have the 2022 Safari, other than a vibration issue which has been fixed, the vehicle just glides through everything. Love it so much.

From what I've seen on team bhp both tata Mahindra are very risky options, Mahindra being the better option though. Tata is sometimes a nightmare to own. Also shows the need for Indian manufacturers to improve QC and service to the level of the Japanese and the Koreans

It's really bad that something like that had to happen for not one but two Mahindra products and I can understand your frustration buddy but I would like to only say that not everyone would have had the same experience as yours. I'm only giving my example as in our family we had 2 Mahindra Commander Jeep(not at the same time), then a 2008 Scorpio, and now own a 2021 XUV300 diesel. Yes we did face a few issues with the vehicles but nothing that couldn't be fixed by the Mahindra service centre. We really had and are having a great time with Mahindra products and I would definitely recommend Mahindra to everyone but also state the fact that no vehicle is perfect. We had a VW Polo as well which gave us hell and ended up selling it as soon as possible but doesn't mean I wouldn't recommend any VW car to anyone. As I said, I understand your frustration but not everyone faces the same issue always.

Turbo engines are always trouble making engines in terms of maintenance. Three cylinder engine with turbo combination will be a disaster in future. All these reviews will be changed after 3years or so. If you afford to pay more money on maintenance just go for it else stick with 4 cylinder NA engines which is reliable. Even in this case tata punch 3 Cylinder NA engines are more reliable than 3xo. Shumi please give your honest opinion at least for this comment.

You should definitely drive the Creta CVT. That would be our first pick. Do let us know if you have any queries. If you try the 3XO - please try the base engine. We hope it will be easier to drive in the city than the 130PS engine.

I drove the Diesel manual and felt jerk with 3rd gear at low speed may be at 25kmph, wasn't aware it was diesel until the sales guy told me. Super smooth engine and comfortable driving experience.

Excellent work Karthi & Shumi 👍 A small tip regarding AC you have mentioned. The AC works in tandem with the exterior temperature shown in the cluster. If the cluster displays 22 degrees Celsius and you set the AC to 22 degrees, it will be hot inside. But if the exterior climate shown in the instrument cluster is 36 degrees Celsius, even if you set the car's AC to 26 degrees, it will feel very cool inside. So to maintain a comfortable temperature, try setting the AC temperature 3 to 5 degrees lower than the exterior temperature shown in the cluster. "Strange enough" 😂, but as an XUV3OO user completing just one year, these self-identified tips may help new users."

@@motorincbeen two months. Mind you I didn't know how to drive a car before this, being a hardcore biker, road sense was there for sure in me. 21 days (including driving classes) am driving this. Loving it. Nickels are there in it sprinkled mercilessly but yet, the drive is amazing. Overtaking is fun. Even in roads like Bengaluru has, the pot holes are easily passable and picking up the car from lower gear again and getting up to speed is fun. The indicator noise can be dealt with one specific chime and reducing the volume, then you won't even notice it. Rest, put seat belt clips at back, doesn't annoys you with seat belt notifications. Boot space is a fine for a small family. Mileage is an issue, 11kmpl in bumper to bumper traffic, but hey I am not complaining as turbo charge engines aren't made for mileage, they are made for your driving experience. Overall, fun car. If you have to pick the base petrol. For city use the 130PS engine isn’t going to be the easiest. Ride is good.

Our rule of thumb for an EV two-wheeler is you should have an EV that gives you three times your daily commute as the true range. So, if you ride 30km every day, ideally it should be 90-100km true range. See if you can find choices that fit this and go from there. We'd recommend that you stay away from Ola products until they fix their issues.

It’s the combination of engine and gearbox - and we’d pick the Sonet. It’s a more flexible combination. And yes its dct is more enjoyable.

I am confused between AX5 and AX5L, mainly because of the TGDI, is TGDI prone to issues? I plan to keep the car for atleast 10 years and I'll only be using it moderately. Please help me chose one.

We would skip the TGDI. The base engine will be almost as fun and easier to drive at lower speeds (hopefully).

Kartikeya has addressed this before @chandankumardhal435. Let your first car be a manual, learn the skill. You can switch to an automatic for the second car. Unless you live in a big city with lots of stop-and-go traffic...

But as pointed out by an XUV300 owner, its not an issue. The AC works in tandem with the outside temperature. So if outside temp is 24 and AC temp is also 24, it will not feel cool. And if outside temp is 36 and AC is 24, it will feel very cool. And the tip is to set the AC temp 3-5 degrees lower than the outside temp shown on the instrument cluster.

Xuv300 is the nearest one could get in here a fast vehicle which can go over portholes basically a budget performance vehicle. I have one but as always xuv300 turbo sports came a year later which is my preferred model. The next car which i will buy have to be between xuv300 to creta size has the speed and ground clearance to do all. I am currently waiting for curve.

If you compare the turbo petrols - the Hyundais drivability will be. Better for everyday use. Backseat - more space for sure in 3XO.

After watching the video...My only concern is about driving in day to day city traffic...is it too jerky between the pedal press and turbo kick in point...will it affect my bumper to bumper drive by giving continuous head nods..and unnecessary fear of extra push even with mild throttle??

It’s not that bad, but it doesn’t quite let you relax. You will feel a slight jerkiness in traffic. For primarily city use - not the best pick.

That’s exactly why we don’t consider the City or the Elevaye to be great all rounders. The Verna’s issue isn’t firmness - it’s a sudden sharpness. Suspension doesn’t move (up or down) at the same rate through the movement. Over sharper bumps the Verna’s suspension doesn’t feel controlled enough - we would want it to be firmer!
