Saw Mahogany Rush in 1978. Unparalleled. This song is so bad-ass. Frank Marino is amazing.

Glad he’s still playing though not as much . “White Hendrix “ but playing an SG with a whammy bar instead of a strat. Psychedelic Funk Rock. I know in one concert , his brother was playing that jangly rhythm part.

One of the best in the business, Montreal's Frank Marino. Check out LIVE at the Agora Theatre, brilliant stuff. What's Next is probably my favourite Mahogany Rush album.

I would describe Frank as the Canadian shred-master and professor of pedals. This is one of his most laid back tracks and it was no secret early on he really zoned in on Hendrix and his covers were great but he moved on to a touch of jazz and fusion. I would suggest King Bee and Ain't Dead Yet if you are into really fast fingerwork. Unfortunately, he has something structural going on so he can't play on the road anymore but he is still pushing his 6 Hour concert video at the Agora. Now that he has time on his hands, he is getting into designing pedals and other equipment.

Most underrated guitar player of all time in my view. I had his first six or seven albums back in the day and there was hardly even an average track. Really, really strong catalog. Try Funky Woman from the first album, Maxoom.

Hello Justin Panariell0, By the you reacted to this, I am sure you`ll be blown away by the Insane guitar work from Frank Marino on his monster track called DITCH QUEEN. It is graced by arguably one of the greatest and heaviest guitar solos ever put down on a killer rock song.

Bought several early Mahogany Rush albums as was a huge Jimi Hendrix fan. Accidentally bought a Rush album first as was confused. Thoroughly enjoyed Rush but needed that Hendrix sound. Also bought Robin Trower for the same reason.

I have Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush live from the late 70's so I only know the live version of this song. Back then it was so different and I would buy albums not having a clue what it would be like. Sometimes just buying albums because of the album cover alone because it looked cool in hopes the music would be as well. Such a different time...

The Power Of Rock And Roll" album is a heavy rocker, if that's what you're into. I personally like pretty much all of his stuff ... One of the most diverse musicians out there. Psychedelic, Blues, Fusion, Funk, Rock N Roll, and even a little Pop... probably why you haven't heard of him. Definitely worth a look.

back around 1975-76....around the Michigan /Ontario parts of the World ...., legend has it that Ted Nugent and Frank Marino had guitar wars !!!....I seen Humble Pie, Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush, Angel and Mother's Finest at Cobo Arena ...in Detroit, in 1980.....excellent show , and Frank has played at the bluesfest here in Windsor a few times....he even played a bar here around 18 years ago.....Frank's a big idol of Zakk Wylde....

many years ago in the early 80s, me and my best buddy were in Birmingham (UK) one Saturday afternoon for a drinking session. Later that evening, once we were blind drunk we walked past the Odean and thought we'd see who was on. Just happened to be Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush - we knew the name but none of the music. We thought we'd chance it. The result was we were blown away with how good they were. Absolutely brilliant. Best £3.50 I've ever spent 😎🤘👍

Frank was such a great talent and yet he got overlooked. He could play lead and sing at the same time. As a guitar player myself I can say that it is very hard to do that! The brain is either in one mode or the other. To be in both modes at the same time is insane! It is so hard to do both at the same time! Even Hendrix could not do both at the same time. I am not aware of any guitar player that could do what frank did. Frank was and is one of the best ever guitarists of all time!!! This guy was unreal!

Poppy and He's Calling are more out there. Strange Dreams is more radio airplay. Retired due to shoulder injury, prior to huge tour

I had tickets to see him in Cincinnati, however, he abruptly retired due to an undisclosed illness. I did see him in 1979 though.

Seen FM & MR with Eddie Money opening in late 70's and Anvil 80/81 in Montreal. Between my brother and I we have all his albums. Definitely the Hendrix vibe. But he plays some straight ahead heavy blues rock too. He was a long time friend with SRV before SRV broke though. Both had mutual love for Hendrix guitar playing style. Frank Marino has played on both Hendrix and SRV Tribute albums. His covers of Watchtower is probably more over the top than Hendrix. Decent cover of Purple Haze. Roadhouse Blues, Norwegian Wood and Johnny B Goode are rockers

He injured his Shoulder beyond repair before the release of Live at the Angora, hence he was forced into retirement but he was Incredibly better then most blues players in the day such as SRV...

I guess at the start he sounded (vocally) like JH but more like Kim Mitchell with a cold. We must have had a shortage of musicians in 🇨🇦 back then with all the trios that were working the circuit.
