I think Spags was so traumatized by Chase's first game against them that he's made it his top priority to shut Chase down. The defense in 2021 was awful, leaving holes in coverage and missing tackles, which is why they went all in on defense in the 2022 draft, and it's paid off greatly. Meanwhile the Bengals defense has somehow continued to age while losing key players, which is a huge problem for them.

And the main reason that the Bengals won that one playoff game was Andy Reid's confounding game management whenever the Chiefs get the lead. That's why pretty much every Chief's game goes down to the final drive of the game. For all of his overall greatness, he has a chronic inability to lead the team to comfortable wins. They had a 21-3 lead in that AFCCG that the Bengals came back and won. And it was 21-10 with the ball on the goal line just before halftime and the Chiefs getting the ball first in the 2nd half. But some cockamamy cutesy play call that went wrong also ran out the clock so they couldn't even get a field goal. Changed the whole momentum. As others have pointed out, Burrow was just average in that and other games.

This feels like an 07 patriots roster for KC. We had our first 3 bowls and scraped by but now we truly have an elite team in every aspect of the game. Burrow was lucky to be the opposing QB when Mahomes inexplicably played the worst half of football in his life. That's it. The Bengals scored 24 points in regulation that game. Nothing special. The Bills have done that or more in all three of Allen's playoff losses to the Chiefs but it was never enough. He played better in the 13-second game than Burrow ever has.
