I mean, this film was never a serious Oscar contender, but, I think the film and Jennifer should have gotten nominations at the Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy and Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. This is the type of film that actually fits the genre unlike a lot of past nominees and winners that got in until 2016 when the committee had to revise their criteria following the outrage when The Martian was nominated in and won in those categories.

Jennifer Lopez's character in this movie was a maid. Funny how I don't remember seeing her do any actual cleaning like scrubbing a bathtub or toilet, cleaning a mirror or vacuuming carpet. But, we did see her try on an expensive outfit belonging to a hotel quest and suddenly leave her work shift to go and flirt with a stranger. Another thing, for a maid, Jennifer's makeup and hair was always perfect.

I watched it ages ago so I can't comment with 100% certainty but in a grand hotel like the one the film takes place in, maids are everything from butlers to personal assistants. From getting clothes properly pressed to making beds to helping serving lunch. You get an example of all of the above. Also, it's not fun to watch someone clean.. so they won't focus on it? Also remember she was fired for the fact that she 'suddenly left work'. Also, a maid and any working class person can't take pride in her appearance?
