The original version of this song has the same title and was used as a movie soundtrack in 1987! I remember my mom singing it to me when I was a child! The movie is amazing for that period. The title is " the empire of the sun", for those who want to listen to the original song or watch the movie

Being in-game as the siren's song, I can see why it would fit. The instruments play forebodingly harsh notes under the guise of being a lullaby. The singer herself sings it beautifully, but her following the instruments notes makes her voice forebodingly beautiful. Add to it some of her pronunciations having that rough tongue roll accentuates the hauntingly beautiful melody. This version definitely fits with the game's atmosphere. Also makes a great connection to Calon Lan as a counter-song; this being a beautiful song disguising evil and Calon Lan as a pure song in both melody and sung intent. EDIT: I only just realized this is the counter-song. I thought this was the siren's song when I made my comment. Interesting then how my mind interpreted this one as being the siren's song. I guess my brain's wired to think that foreboding tunes beget or forecast impending evil/doom. Though on the flip side, the foreboding tone can be seen as singing in defiance to the siren's song's more lulling melody. In that respect, it makes sense how the delivery of this song was made.

It's flipping folk songs into the minor key. I don't know if it's a genre per se, but it's a fun thing some folk musicians do to make things spicy. What's standard is doing the song is the typical key and doing a verse flipped. And then returning to the typical key.

(or know where I can buy it cuz i would pay to have it ngl) As someone who has sang in a few choirs, on stage for theatre, and on my own for a while, I really want to find some sheet music for this and learn it.
