I would really deter the idea of having a maid and making the mistake of having sexual relations. You are leaving yourself wide open by engaging in this. She could be married, you could get robbed, etc. I'm in no way trying to put a slur on filipina maids. I just believe that protecting yourself is the best way to avoid problems. This was a very helpful topic Maya, you made some great points. Our family living in Cebu has had several Helpers and or Maids over the years with mixed results mostly bad. My wife and listened with interest to Gio's "Maid" video. Some of those guys stories are ridiculous.

For traveling light and exploring another country, I don’t need maid service. I can take care of my self and my surroundings, and would like to have privacy vs convenience, while staying in that country. I prefer not to have a woman in my home or condo that I don’t know. Maids can be problems, pool staff have possible problems, repair men plumbers as Gio expands the list for married couples etc. . . 😅

PH is not the ideal country for foreigners to settle foreigners in PH can't own properties full business ownership & have very limited rights foreigners can be naturalized PH citizens if born & raised in PH like the prominent Spanish Ayala family which is not the case of newcomers like Gio PH is paradise on earth for rich Filipinos only
