*Maiden Flight* Freewing Mirage 2000C 80mm EDF Jet

Hello everyone and welcome back to the channel! We are Ché and Ashley and the maiden flight was absolutely amazing other than the too much rates on the Ailerons. Overall, this jet is amazing and handles very well in high winds, even without a Gyro and lands great! I am looking forward to many more flights on this burn as well as upgrades on the jets, such as lights and the 3D printed Cockpit! Please smash that thumbs up. Please smash that thumbs up! Sadly I lost orientation and crashed it in a backlit sunlight scenario and it’s pretty damaged now so I’m going to use the 80mm EDF in the Freewing Gripen ARF+ I just ordered. I got probably 40-50 flights on the Mirage though and was starting to get a little bored of it. It was a speed demon. Clocked it at 161mph once with my gps analyzer with a moderate tailwind. But it was really only good for high speed passes, some decent high alpha, and rolling like a drill bit. I’m much more excited for the Gripen with the thrust vectoring nozzle upgrade :)

great maiden landing Che, not an easy one to bring in nice at first. Wait till you get comfortable and scream it down in a dive, it sounds funky and awesome- one of the best speed demons on the edf market -:)

Fantastic Maiden!! Delta wing jets seem to have the widest flight envelope and the mirage 2000 is NO exception, wait till you explore its slow flight high alpha capabilities 👍

Thank you! we fly in Central illinois! This is right outside of a middle school about 4 miles from the house. an absolute perfect spot facing the field in the morning and 300FT Runways to work with. The Club also has a runway. The good thing about the two locations is that I can choose where to fly based off the wind because they are facing two different directions :)

I saw you had oscillation issues with yours also, just finished an easy mod that fixed mine. I added small stabilizers the the rear and bingo wing rock no more. Adding a jet fan with 130amp ESC and new motor to mine like to hit 160mph or so now the rocks gone. I’ve shared pics on 2Bros discord channel of my mod. Nice flying bro

I have flown the snot out of this jet one of my favorites. AILERON THEOWS per manual are a joke. The throws i used were like 6mm up/down For elevator I used about 10mm.

Yo!? Bruh I’m in Seattle so I know cold weather lol Have you ever tried latex gloves?? I still can feel everything (along with the trims) with those. I fly for a few hours and go through like 3 pairs… It be cold af and my hands are always warm. Try that my G. It’s a game changer.

Nice flight. Always nerve-wracking to maiden. Try increasing your rates to 100%, then go up on expo, say 25% to start with.
