Maiden Flight of the New Freewing A-10 Warthog (V2) - Twin 64mm EDF running on 4S

Some things I forgot to address in the video; On the maiden flight I required a lot of back trim on the elevator. In fact, I maxed out my trim on my transmitter. For the next flight I adjusted the clevis on the elevator to what you see at the end of the video. The maiden flight used a heavier, but older and more worn 4S battery. Most of my 4S packs I use in warbirds and I think they're being punished a bit flying in this jet.

Great video man, informative, plenty of cool footage and two sweet landings! I really like your tuning notes regarding the nose gear door and ordinance, as well as the elevator neutral position. Couldn't ask for anything more!

It really wasn't a bad flight at all. Just make sure to adjust that elevator so it's close to the neutral you see at the end of my video. I don't know why this information isn't in the manual (or if it was, I did not see it). That was the only tricky thing about my maiden. Everything else went very smoothly.

awesome flight man i knew this plane would fly good with just a bigger battery i had version 1 and took me forever to figure out why my landings sucked so bad. i was using a 3600 put a 4000 in it and it was a different airplane lol. Also the gear down pitch up might be the drag evening out with the top heavy thrust vector just a thought.

I followed you over here from TheRcSaylors channel where he was flying the same plane and you made a recommendation to him regarding his Warthog. Brother, I have to say that you are a top notch pilot with your skills! So glad that I followed you to see what that warthog is capable of doing. So if I could get your opinion please, do you recommend this version of this plane or the more expensive one that the Saylors recommended? Thanks, Super Dave Brown.

First off, thanks for the compliments. I really appreciate it. I think you're asking for my opinion on this (Freewing A-10) versus the Eflite model? If that's the case, then it's this one, hands down x 100. I have seen a lot of people speak well of the E-flite model. But, I have flown three of them. One I owned myself, and the other two were club members planes. They flew great, but they were horrible at landing. They are very easy to accidentally bounce down the runway on landing, leading to a damaged nose gear and damage to the nose itself. The E-flight model does come with AS3X and SAFE. But (imo) a pilot who needs SAFE to fly a plane (safely) probably shouldn't be flying a jet like this A-10. I have flown almost every foamy A-10 Thunderbolt on the market and I think this one (Freewing) is the best. I'm not sponsored or anything, so you don't have to worry about bias. I bought this one with my own money and just like it so much. Just make sure to put in that neutral elevator trim I showed and make sure you have the recommended control throws as per the manual, and the plane should treat you very well.

some dave brown foams will make your landings even better considering it has no suspension like the e-flight arf

Shots fired, lol. But I am amazed he had such trouble with it. I have flown all the foamie A-10's on the market. From the UMX to the giant twin 80mm Freewing model and this one (the twin 64mm) is by far my favorite. It flies so good.

Honestly, I never really watched the RC Saylors much, but I checked out both of his videos on this just to see for myself and...yeah. It does seem like he's going out of his way to complain about the plane.
