We are Ben and MP!
Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the work needed was much more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way.

Parabéns pelos 100k, e pelo término desse desafio que foi a recuperação do Yabá. Acompanhei vocês por todo esse desafio, desde a chegada do Yabá a Marina em Guarujá, com o incentivo do Lucca e da Roberta do veleiro ODD,na criação do vosso canal do KZbin. Vi a incansável luta que foi fazer os primeiros reparos para conter os vazamentos para poderem navegar para o estaleiro em Navegantes . Pude acompanhar a desmontagem das peças que estavam totalmente podres pela ação do tempo sem manutenção. Parabéns pela perseverança em querer fazer a reforma do Yabá, percebi algumas vezes que vocês ficavam um quanto decepcionados quando a longarina e as cavernas não podiam ser recuperadas. Você não desistiram e hoje o Yabá faz a sua primeira viagem com sucesso. O fato de vocês manterem algumas partes do antigo Yabá como o bico de proa, o antigo mastro, parte da coberta e a retifica do motor e etc... fez com que a energia do Yabá se mantivesse viva. Desejo a vocês que tenham muito sucesso nessa nova trajetória de vida e que doravante tenham mares calmos nos vossos empreendimentos. You might consider having two separate lines on that dingy for safety especially if you are traveling at night. Wish I had one of those visors that let you see all around you, that would be neat. I have to admit....I was one of the folks way back at the beginning that thought you should abandon the refurbishment of Yaba, and instead just put the money into a newer boat that required less work. But I was definitely wrong! I've followed you from day 1, and have enjoyed every minute of your journey thus far. I'm sure the feeling of satisfaction you get from sailing a boat that you built yourselves is much greater than buying another of the production fiberglass boats we see on other sailing channels. I've followed you since then and will freely admit I was skeptical at the amount of damage that was revealed during the initial tear down.
