What happened to the T1X vs RPR vs CZ457 base class vid? Never saw a vid on the CZ.

Seems kind of unfair to limit some rifles on sling or bipod mounts due to their stocks. If you're allowed to add pic rails and flush cups to the Ruger using M-Lok, you should be able to do the same on other rifles. If you buy a Leapers UTG Recon 360 bipod it comes with a swivel stud adapter to mount their bipod on their rail.

I love my rpr, but if the t1x was out at the time that I bought it I think I would've gone that route instead. I haven't had any of the feeding issues some have had with the rpr, and my factory barrel shoots very well, but the chassis does have some odd flex. T1x just seems like a slightly more polished product overall.

I shoot a MPA chassis so I went RPR and just put the MPA palm grip on it and feels a lot like my MPA , the trigger is crisp... enough lol

I bought the RPR and enjoyed it, but then bought a T1x and have sold the RPR. It was a pretty easy decision and I considered it a clear upgrade... The RPR wasn't accurate enough for my liking, and I really didn't like the stock design. If Ruger had just used a buffer tube design, I may have just bough a GM barrel and new trigger. My T1x in the Oryx chassis is very comfortable and a great chassis in terms of just being ready to go.

Should of saved it for a training rifle. Barrels get expensive

@@Johnyrocket70 The T1x is my training rifle. It's just more accurate and reliable, and can be dropped into a full sized chassis. E.g. the Oryx... Even without the chassis, the T1x is a better rifle.

I have the Green Mountain 16" fluted barrel on my RPR, and can say that it is a night and day difference. The factory barrel was unacceptable in a rifle that included the word "precision" in its name. Match ammo was only slightly better than bulk ammo in the factory 18" barrel, which is to say it shot roughly 1/2" 5-shot groups at 50 yards at best. With the GM barrel, (after a couple hundred rounds of careful break-in), the rifle will put 5 rounds of Center-x or even Aguila Super Extra (yes, just about the cheapest ammo available) into the 0.35-0.40" range on average, and occassionally a little better. Another huge benefit of the shorter and fluted barrel is that is takes 9 ounces off of the muzzle end of the rifle. Anyone familiar with these rifles knows that they balance horribly, and this makes a huge difference in the handling of the rifle. Any gun should shoot well from a bench or bipod, but the RPR with the GM barrel actually shoots well offhand, which is the true test of a marksman and a rifle's fit to the shooter. Just another tip for those with RPRim rifles, I like to remove the safety blade, cut a coil from the trigger spring, and then heat my actual trigger up to a warm red glow with a propane torch and bend it into a straight trigger. Of course, remove the trigger from the gun before you do this, and bend it carefully and slowly with some good pliers. I now have a crisp and safe 15 ounce trigger that also allows better leverage by lengthening the trigger by straightening it, and by allowing the very tip of the trigger to be contacted by the pad of the trigger finger since it is flat all the way to the tip. These are not great guns off the bench due to stock design, but are excellent for PRS-style matches since that is what the stock is designed for. With a new barrel and some trigger tweaking these rifles can really become excellent shooters and remain relatively light weight. It's unfortunate that Ruger didn't outfit these guns from the factory with a true match chamber and either a lighter barrel profile, or a shorter barrel, but for the price of the GM barrel, and the outstanding improvement in mechanical accuracy, it's a no brainer upgrade for anyone who takes accuracy seriously.

@@derekshapiro1 I was thinking about going the Green Mountain route, as I have one on my 10/22 that really performs. The only thing still hanging me up was the buttstock. I can see why people like it, but I found it a little too difficult to get comfortable. If they had used a buffer tube on the RPR, I would still have one today with a GM barrel.

Good info concerning the flush cups. I was about to start drilling and tapping. Any idea on adding a pic rail for a QD bipod and staying within base class rules?
@8541tactical
@8541tactical 5 жыл бұрын
That would likely not be allowed for Nationals, but your local match director may allow it for club matches.

I got a weihrauch 22lr with a pound and a half two stage trigger in a wallnutt stock. Nothing here seems to be able to beat this setup. A fixed 4X Scope. I can cut Daysies at a 100m . Maybe i'll try a RPRimFire one of these days. But, i'm not sure it will do better... 🖖🏻🇫🇷😎🇫🇷😇🇫🇷🖖🏻

How does the Thompson center llr compare to the RPR?
@brenn330
@brenn330 5 жыл бұрын
I've played with both quite a bit, and multiples of each. I think the Tikka is consistently more accurate, smoother to run, and has the superior trigger. The RPR is a great rifle though, and has a decent aftermarket following.

@@8541tactical my vudoo is a 16in and love it and run my dead air mask on it all the time...I think a 16in short/stiff barrel is killer for a 22lr. Guess I'll have to be patient and wait for the 16in to come into the wild...I believe over seas the 16's were out in the wild right away

@@8541tactical Cheers John. I'm huge Tikka fan, had a T1x on order for 9 months. Then impatience got the better of me and i cancelled the order and bought an Anschutz for Practical Rimfire comp which is flawless. Shot a T1x @ a PRS event last week and it felt nice but still waiting to see how they perform accuracy wise before i drop $1kAUD on one as a plinker for the kids.

hey 22lr if fine with range confines ... but I wonder why not a 17hmr ..plenty of brands and ammo types , and push it out to 200 yards easy maybe 300 so one can work drop like a centerfire ... hell even a 17 w.s.m. class out to 300 yards + .. could be down the road ..sticking with .22lr seems so wimpy ..good starter ..but really 1070 fps is so not good trainer when you come down to that reason for shooting one .. but ya the good old boys will keep it as is .. shame nothing like a good ''crack '' ....then a thump puff puk thunk ping 22lr ..shooting 200-300 yards is way better then a 100 yard ..if you want training ..helps learn wind ..
