'Awkward!' Reaction to Prince Harry and his extraordinary court grilling | Palace Confidential

Prince Harry’s approach to his latest legal case against the publishers of the Daily Mirror is ‘confused’ - that’s the view of the Daily Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English. ‘Harry’s very confused in his approach,’ she tells Palace Confidential. ‘He says “I’m no longer a working royal”, then he goes into court and says “I’m here as a member of the Royal Family standing up doing what I feel is right” - you can’t really have both. The Daily Mail’s Diary Editor Richard Eden agrees that the case is ‘extraordinary’ and believes that the Duke’s comments about the government and press being ‘at rock bottom’ will upset many. ‘Harry has made clear that he now sees it as his life’s mission to radically change the media in Britain, and clearly the government as well, judging by his latest comments,’ he tells the show.
‘There’s just relief that he’s trying not to do that from within the royal family.’

Harry has it both ways, He used the HRH when he was sworn in, he is a Prince, he has a Duke title, his children are Prince and Princess,he is a Councelor of State and in line to the Throne,what part of that is not being part of the Monarchy? He has all the titles and privilege, but none of the work that goes with it.He uses his Royalness to make money but behaves like a private citizen when commenting on the Government. Its ridiculous. If he wants to make Political statements and be an Influencer he should be taken off the Councelor of State list,and have the Duke and Duchess titles removed,then he can say and do what he likes. The case will be dropped due to technicality. No evidence, Harry blaming everything on his lawyers over & over as he’s only saying what they told him to say & how to act. The other lawyer hasn’t really dragged Harry over the coals to provide written evidence. This case is a farce. It’s smells of a prearranged outcome. Harry getting in & out of the car standing for a split second to do up his blazer then turns to wave , smile,smirk or give a thumbs up. The the judge is to give his verdict in August after reviewing the transcripts supposedly. Harry has pulled this to upstage the talk of William as a well adjusted young man to be the future king. Harry has no mental illness, he’s just a jealous spoiled s_ _t head. As for Chelsea he’s bringing her into the limelight of the same paparazzi that he claims chased her away. Why would either lawyer sit or stand there letting him do this to her knowing she hates being the centre of attention. This whole court case is a farce. Well, Chelsy Davy was famously a hard partier so it is unlikely that a bit of drug use would faze her. They were both pretty young and he pretty inexperienced, so the odds of it going the distance were not graven in stone. That media intrusion accelerated it is a distinct possibility. So might Royal duties -- Ms. Davy might not have fancied the restrictions, and unlike the eventual Mrs. Prince Harry, she had the wit to cut and run, not to stay and exploit and then backstab when it didn't suit. Wonder how Madam in Montecito felt about all this discussion of the loss of Chelsy on the witness stand.

My brother recently died. My other three siblings and I were rejected from coming to see him in hospital, and were not even allowed to attend the funeral. We are totally perplexed because none of us can think of anything we did to him to warrant such an abandonment. Prince Harry’s trial against the Mirror Group Newspapers for alleged phone hacking is underway - and legal experts thinks he has a good chance of winning. He has nothing to prove. He just has to convince the judge that it was possible. MGN also cannot show where they got their stories from. In addition, they paid a lot to victims to keep it out of court. If I came home and my house side window was broken. I feel my neighbors kids did it because they are mischievous. I can’t take the my neighbor to court because I think they did it.

To be in a situation where the Prime Minister is having to answer questions about derogatory comments a member of the Royal Family who is in the line of succession has made while overseas is a step too far. He has went too far too many times in my opinion. Charles can still love and care about him as his son, but he has a duty to protect the Monarchy and there is not doubt this is hurting them. I hope Charles does turn this over to Anne if he can't handle it. I don't think she appreciates how her mother was treated nor Harry and Meghan's attempts to tear down The Queen's life work. He needs to be removed.

It is part of the British system and cannot be got “done” however much it seems to you that they can. I’m assuming you’re not British but my understanding is these laws came about centuries ago for good reason, to limit the powers of the Monarch to stop them riding roughshod over Parliament and the people.

He didn't do his own homework on the cases involved as he brushed them aside with replies that basically told the Court to go check out that information for themselves (ask the journalists)!! Even bringing in the Government by his comment, showed his disrespect for his Family. It ended with a 'No Substance Testimony' (except what he might enjoy after each day in court)IMO
