Hey Harrison. Another great video. Just made a couple of thread stands. One for the patcher and one for winding bobbins. Your videos actually got my machine running great. Thanks brother

At this time my patcher is on order, so in the meantime I have been watching your videos in preparation for its arrival. Very happy I ran across your site as you have provided a wealth of information needed to get it running properly. I would like to mention one thing in regard to the feeding of the thread. There is a difference between spools of thread and cones of thread, which cause problems when sewing. Spools of thread are designed for the thread to be pulled off from the side of the spool and are wound at the factory to do so. Cones of thread are designed for the thread to be pulled straight up from the cone and are wound differently when manufactured. By placing a cone on the top of the machine and pulling the thread off from the side of the cone, the thread twists, which in turn causes a lot of problems with tension settings and thread breaking or jamming. For years I had fought the jamming, tension problems when sewing until a sewing machine representative explained the difference. After that, I no longer complained about poor thread, bad leather, faulty tensioners, and etc. I hope this is of some help, and thanks for the great videos you've provided.

The spool holder is great. I am sure you could sell them if you put them on ebay or etsy. Might take time for people to find them. (I haven't looked for competing products. Have you thought about trying to sell them through Bantam or someone like that that already sales accessories?)

I made them for a while, but I sold out and haven't had the time to get that back up and running. Thanks for looking out!!

Which way is better: for thread to unwind off the spool as it rotates on that paddle-like gizmo or for it to come off the spool; through that looped wire directly above the stationary spool set beside the machine?

Sorry this is off subject, however, I was wondering if I could grind the jagged walking foot down smooth. I have tried filing it down, but it just isnt enough. I want NO tracks on my projects. Thanks man!
@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks
@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks 5 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't grind it completely smooth because those teeth advance the material forward. I would file or grind the edges off and then dip in a rubberized paint. You can also adjust the tension on the presser foot so it's not pressing into the leather so bad.

Man, I didn’t see the bobbins on their website when I ordered the needles. I see them now though. I got my machine. I haven’t used it yet. I’ve been working up the nerve to take it all apart and do the sanding/finishing that everyone seems to be doing to it. I’m nervous about getting the timing right, when I put it back together. I’ve never sewn before.

hello Sir I just got my machine and at this moment its not sewing :/ I have made all the adjustment as you have done but with no luck it keeps braking the top thread and mangling the bobbin thread , what is the thickest thread you have used on your machine? I'm using T270 #277.
@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks
@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks 6 жыл бұрын
The thickest thread I have used was a T-135, I think the T270 is way too thick for these machines.

@@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks I am grateful for your attention! Purchasing one of these machines, and your observations about them were of great value to me. Have you ever used 1 mm (0.0393701 inch) thick thread? If so, which needle was used?
@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks
@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks 5 жыл бұрын
I normally use threads that are sized by T, like T 90, T 138 and so on. I am not sure what 1mm converts too in the T sizes.
