Great video! Mainline pop-ups are quite deadly throughout the year, especially in winter I mainly rely on these gems . One thing I am allowed to criticise is that Mainline terminated the products “Plum” that baits I still have, say only 7-8 left, this bait gave me the number of proper carps even in the worst conditions. Pineapple 12 pop-up is my top choice now . One dedicated Mainline fan anger from Japan.
@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV4 жыл бұрын
Haha yes you are allowed to say, although we are looking at a Plum blend for some limited edition pop-ups next year! Pineapple is great substitute - we hope all you guys over there are still able to fish safely! Good luck! 幸運を

Don't you find that soaking pop ups in a glug often makes the pop up less buoyant because it takes in the liquid glug. Pop up then sinks. How do you get round this?

Great vid John👍 was wondering if you use a lead to feel the Bottom for a clean place to present the pop up or bottom bait. Also would you recommend wafters or pop up?
@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV4 жыл бұрын
Yep, its okay to lead about a bit too. Although I probs use wafters most of the time, for these tactics I prefer a pop-up - just so its a bit more prominent, but you may find a nice bright wafter could work just as well, especially if you know your fishing a clean area.

Recently i started to really get into carp fishing and by this i mean i started to buy some propper gear and stuff like that, and i wanted to ask something. If i pour any of those liquids into my Pop-Up container wont it ruin them? I tried something similar with some old Boilies and they started to break appart, i dont know if thats because the boilies were old or if i should take some precaution about that, or may be it could also be something related to the time that they have been soaking on the fluids, i have no idea so i would really apreciate if someone could explain this to me.
@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV4 жыл бұрын
That could have been down to the condition of those boilies - these liquids such as the Hookbait Enhancement System dips will only enhance your pop-ups in fact these dips will harden soft baits like freezer bait boilies making them much better hookbaits. In this video you'll see this done with some 10mm boilies: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lavNeKiVj7WWqdE

Honestly use single bait approach all year round devastating on pressured waters where they see loads of bait often it's the better fish on a single imo

It's funny how having a bit of bait out there gives false confidence sometimes, I'd always fish over bait where possible, but very often in winter a single is enough to match the appetite or activity of the carp. Glad you enjoyed the video!
@daleHarrison933 жыл бұрын
been doing carp fishing almost 25 year and most of my big fish came on singles, i once went to a lake in france 4 of us 15 year ago it only had 3 40's in nobody caught a fish apart from me...i caught a 27 43 45 40 all on singles i was buzzin lol dont have to use single boilies though, single particles work well corn/maize etc
@H8er-Maker4 жыл бұрын
Wow you must've been 150yds off shore, you were reeling it in for a good 30secs. How long will you leave a bait soak with no bites during the winter?
@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV4 жыл бұрын
Thats a good question; as a rule of thumb and with three rods to position, I'd probably roam one rod roughly every hour, have a rod in an area that I'm confident with so perhaps fishing to a feature where I could leave that rod indefinitely and then decide based on the lake, carp activity, other anglers etc. which of these two approaches to apply to the third rod. If you see a fish show, get a bait on it! Very often you'll find your roaming rod can find a really productive area; this could be an area fish are actually laid-up or somewhere where the fish visit to feel comfortable in cold water.
