I like waiting 6+ plus months before a retwist ,my locs r only to my ear but when I wait I feel like they grow so much more than getting retiwts under 5 months lol. Maybe it’s just in my head

I lightly wash my locs every other day, I can't have funky hair. Besides, that wouldn't be fair to my queen, to have to deal with that everyday either.

This is why I don’t fuck with the taper fade, they make your rough days look extra rough and out of place. Plus the farther the taper, the worst it looks.

Good thing I can taper it myself. I use to like the taper in the front but grew out of the look so now I just taper the sides

You can try separating your locs after washing while it’s still damp and that should help cut down on your locs marrying/combining

@@5626BREE I know your comment was to the original commenter but in general people still do wash their locs in between retwist a even if they go months. While your hair is still damp after washing you can separate the locs to cut down on them marrying/combining. Hope this helps!

That’s not good bro. Cuz after u wash ur roots are loose and weak and has a higher chance at breakage.i used to do the same thing

My roots are healthier than ever, I’ve learned from my time having Locs that everybody hair is different. I haven’t had any breakage which I had before. Taking the break has help out a lot.

Also dryness causes the breakage after a wash. That’s why you have to keep your Locs moisturized.

I think to each his/own. What works for other might not work for you. I freeform, don't retwist, I'm 4c. I wash once a week, and don't use anything else on my hair, not even oil. My roots, and hair are flourishing ❤. I just treat it like a plant, I just water it!
