When I used to make flax gel, I would boil with marshmallow root. It helped with detangling. I did have to add oil to get rid of flakes.
@abetweene2 ай бұрын
ohhh thats a great idea! i love slippery elm bark for detangling so ill prob like marshmallow root too
@Talqu1lla2 ай бұрын
@abetweene the marshmallow root helped to make the gel thicker as well. I've tried slippery elm, but the way my roots are set up, I need a heavy hold. Okra gel has the same effect as slippery elm to me, so maybe you could try that too.

Hi Lovely! If you want to make that flax gel a little more conditioning add a little marshmallow root and/or hibiscus tea to the water. I’m all store bought now but when I had the time and energy, I did this and my hair seemed to like it. Now imma see if that cuticle cleaner stick works on me when I get it from your previous video and report back lol

thanks so much! treating hyperpigmentation requires 2 things at minimum 1. exfoliate regularly to shed the layers of skin where the high levels of melanin are present (i use a combination of both chemical and manual exfoliation and alternate them) 2. wear sunscreen to protect your skin & discourage new or further darkening. while optional, u can consider using pigment inhibitors to discourage melancytes from increasing production- ingredients like arbutin, tranexamic acid and azelaic acid

Hey Abetweene, this isn't really _directly_ related to the topic of the video, but I have a question regarding sugar waxing. Your videos helped me get started with it, so since you know a lot about it I'm sure this wouldn't be a hard question So I've been trying to get started with sugar waxing, but I've noticed that pretty often, when I make sugar wax, no matter how firm it is, it's like its surface is a bit liquid and not sticky. Heating it up a bit makes it a bit better, but then when applying it, it doesn't stick to the fingers at all, as if it gets wet again. I assume that's because my hands aren't dry enough, but I also don't know of any way to make them drier than they already are, and the problem here I assume also partially comes from me living in a tropical climate with high air moisture (it's 85% at lowest and occasionally reaches 100%). So then, is there a way to use sugar wax without directly touching it with hands? Alternatively, is there a way to get hands to be very dry that wouldn't require buying an expensive hand dryer? Thank you for if you answer, and for the very helpful videos you make
@abetweeneАй бұрын
hi 👋 this happens due to the heat and humidity causing a thin layer to melt and moisture to accumulate at the surface. you can remedy it by storing in a different location thats cooler or just refrigerate it. it shouldnt effect the performance, but your body heat may be softening it more than youd like in addition to the humidity. if youd prefer not to use your hands u can use an applicator instead or an old reward/credit card to apply the sugar. just note it will still soften from the heat of your limbs youre applying it to. Since u live in such a warm humid climate, i suspect the issue may be that the sugar paste is a bit undercooked for what u need, so if you arent already try using a “hard” paste instead of soft or firm.
@FafrАй бұрын
@@abetweene Hm, I'll try hard wax then. If that by itself won't work I'll try refrigerating it, would probably also be good to open the window for about an hour before working with it so the room can cool down. Thank you for answering, thought something more effort-requiring was needed but seems that that's not the case then

My partner uses the As I Am oil like the shampoo you used and it really helped along with some regular drugstore dandruff shampoo. Would you be willing to make a video about things that work for your ADHD and maintaining your health and/or work-life balance? I've been in a bit of a slump and I find hearing about other ADHDers techniques helps me. If you don't feel comfortable talking more about it I completely understand since it's not the focus of your channel.

Even though I used to suagr wax my underarms why there is small bumps on my armpit is it ingrown hair aur either I am not so professional in sugar wax doingby myself please reply arine ❤
@abetweene2 ай бұрын
what type of bumps? are they white, flesh colored, hard, soft?
@arpitapatidar35392 ай бұрын
There are 2-3 ingrown hair and bumps are like your second most viewed video of underarm wax that model had small bumps ,very similar to she had
@abetweene2 ай бұрын
ok, the one where i waxed my friend, she doesnt have ingrowns so im unsure if i know what youre referring to. if there is a trapped hair under the skin you can do hot compresses or epsom salt baths to help coerce the hair to the surface so u can see and pluck it. but if u notice these bumps immediately after sugaring like on my friend, its general inflammation from pulling the hair out. the folicles swells as a histamine response from the injury, but will subside.

Do you still use soft gel overlays? I noticed your nails are mostly naked in your IG reels. My nails are struggling to grow out even with soft gel. 😭 I’ve been considering going naked for a bit but my natural nails are paper thin. Gel has been the only solution to growing them out but I don’t know why they’ve been still been breaking on the sides lately. I use cuticle oil all day-every day… I may go naked and give that base coat a try.
@abetweene2 ай бұрын
only if im fixing a broken nail. currently i wear regular polish most of the time because i dont give myself enough time to do gel art (hoping that changes soon) perhaps a different brand of soft gel is needed to find a better balance of one that will reinforce but still be flexible enough to bend with the natural nails when you make contact with objects. or maybe you need something with more strentgh like poly gel. theres one particular brand i use thats soak off (summer peach) if you prefer not to use hard gel
@abetweene2 ай бұрын
if u do decide to go naked tho, paint on like 4 layers of the base
